Travel Tips for Europe Cruises

European Cruises are a fabulous way to explore the many countries and delightful ports of this widespread and varied area. You could take to the azure waters, sun-kissed beaches, relaxed villages and world-class metropolises of the Mediterranean or head further north and cruise to stylish cities, enchanting forests and dreamy castles around the Baltic Sea. Onboard, you’ll continue to experience class and tranquility as you sail on a ship from leading cruise lines such as Cunard, P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean, MSC Cruises, Holland America and Azamara.

Best Time To Do A European Cruise

The West Mediterranean cruise season runs from April to November, with a handful cruise lines staying the course through the winter. For the Eastern Mediterranean and Greek island cruises, plus the Canary Islands, you’ll notice ships between April and December, with a handful of winter cruises from some cruiselines.

For Northern Europe and Baltic cruises this is slightly shorter season, running from April to October, with some cruise lines offering Northern Lights sailing January through March.

Most cruisers come to Europe and the Med in the summer, but late spring and early autumn have more cooler temperatures and typically won’t be over crowed. You’ll notice the lower European cruise deals at the beginning and end of each season with prices rising dramatically over the summer months.

You might also find restaurants and other establishments closed in August as most of Europe goes on vacation. September is a good time to cruise the Western Med because you will avoid the school holidays and still have warm temperatures.
