Where do Carnival 2028 sailings go?

Carnival’s 2028 programme spans a broad sweep of destinations, from warm-water island-hopping close to home through to long-haul adventures across the Caribbean and beyond. The biggest share of sailings is concentrated in the Caribbean, with the Western Caribbean well represented alongside the broader Caribbean region. Australian and South Pacific departures make up a solid home-waters option, while the USA West Coast and Polynesia round out the programme.

Close to home — Australia and the Pacific

For Australians who want to keep the trip simple, sailings from Sydney and Brisbane head into Australian coastal waters and out into the South Pacific and Polynesia. If you live near one of those ports, you can drive or catch a train to the terminal and board without a flight. From any other Australian capital, a short domestic hop is all it takes — still far less travel than flying to the Americas. Voyage lengths tend to sit around 7 nights, though shorter breaks and longer itineraries are both available. For a broader look at what is sailing from home in 2028, the cruise around Australia 2028 page covers the full picture across all lines. You can also browse Carnival cruises to Australia and Carnival cruises from Sydney or Carnival cruises from Brisbane for port-specific sailings.

The long haul — Caribbean and the Americas

The Caribbean is where Carnival’s 2028 programme is most heavily weighted. Sailings depart from Port Canaveral and Miami in Florida — it is worth noting that Miami and Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) are about half an hour apart, so checking both ports for dates and prices can pay off — as well as Galveston in Texas and Long Beach in California for USA West Coast and Mexican Riviera routes. Central America and the East Coast of America also feature. For most Australian travellers these are fly-cruise itineraries; Cruise1st can book your flights, pre- and post-cruise hotels, and transfers as one package so nothing is left to arrange separately. For more 2028 Caribbean options across all lines, see our Caribbean cruises 2028 page.

Almost all sailings are round trips, returning to the same port you boarded. A small number of one-way itineraries are also available; on those, a domestic flight connects the two ends of the voyage, and we can arrange that as part of your booking.

Which ships sail for Carnival in 2028?

Several Carnival ships are active across the 2028 programme, covering both the Australian home-waters schedule and the US-based Caribbean and Americas routes. Here is what each of the featured ships offers.

Carnival Adventure

Carnival Adventure is the ship to watch for Australian departures in 2028. The EDGE Adventure Park towers above the open deck with zip-lining, rock climbing, abseiling and a flying fox — a genuine draw for families and active travellers sailing from Sydney. When the activity is done, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse and Bonsai Sushi offer serious dining, and Blanc de Blanc Uncorked brings cabaret-style nightlife. Families are well catered for across the age range: Camp Ocean runs for children aged 2–11, Circle C and Club O2 cover the teens, and the adults-only Serenity Retreat and Cloud 9 Spa are there when you want a quieter hour away from it all.

For full layout details, visit the Carnival Adventure cabins and deck plans page. Cabin grades include:

  • Inside cabin 4A — 15 m², sleeps 4, with a walk-in wardrobe and generous storage suited to extended voyages.
  • Ocean-view cabin with Porthole (PT) — 15 m², sleeps 4, with 2 round portholes for natural light on the quieter lower decks.
  • Balcony cabin 8A — 16 m², sleeps 4, with a private balcony accessed through a glass folding door.
  • Byron Beach Club Presidential Suite (SB) — 58 m², sleeps 4, with an expansive balcony, dressing area and deluxe bathroom — more than twice the space of a standard balcony cabin.

Carnival Spirit

Carnival Spirit also sails in Australian waters in 2028. It carries the largest waterpark at sea in Australia, so families with children tend to find it an easy choice. The adults-only Serenity area gives those travelling without children a calm alternative on deck, and youth programmes keep younger passengers entertained throughout the voyage. Browse the Carnival Spirit cabins and deck plans to compare grades, which run from the compact 16 m² Inside cabin 4A through the 17 m² Ocean-view 6A and the 22 m² Premium Balcony 9B, up to the 28 m² Grand Suite GS — the largest suite category on board, with 2 wardrobes and a separate dressing room.

Carnival Celebration

Carnival Celebration focuses on Caribbean and transatlantic itineraries in 2028, sailing from US ports. The ship carries an extensive restaurant selection and the Carnival Excel Presidential Suite runs to 45 m² — the largest suite on board, offering considerably more space than any other grade. The Carnival Celebration cabins and deck plans page covers every grade in detail, from the 19 m² Premium Inside 4N through the 29 m² Family Harbor sea view suite to the compact 19 m² Cove Balcony, which sits in a quieter position with less traffic noise than a standard balcony cabin.

More ships in the 2028 fleet

Several other ships complete the Carnival 2028 programme. Carnival Firenze offers 9 restaurants, bars and lounges, the WaterWorks water park and a brand-new Terrazza cabin category — see Carnival Firenze deck plans before you book. Carnival Freedom brings pub games at the Red Frog Pub alongside healthy dining options; browse Carnival Freedom cabin grades to compare. Carnival Legend pours Aussie beers at its RedFrog Pub and has 16 lounges to choose from alongside a Serenity Retreat; the Carnival Legend cabins and deck plans page has the full breakdown. Carnival Splendor, Carnival Encounter, Carnival Conquest and Carnival Glory are also sailing in 2028; cabin layout pages are available for Carnival Splendor, Carnival Encounter, Carnival Conquest and Carnival Glory.

How much do Carnival 2028 cruises cost?

Prices start from A$386 pp* for the shortest sailings. Most voyages run around 7 nights, and fares vary depending on the ship, the route and the cabin grade you choose. Discounts do appear across the programme — up to 35% off the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing on the best-reduced departures, though most discounted sailings are reduced by around 8%. Fare types such as early-saver and last-minute offers come and go throughout the year, so it is worth speaking to one of our Carnival cruise deals specialists to find what is current. Our Australian cruise experts are available seven days a week, and our Best Price Guarantee means if you find a lower price elsewhere we will match it.

Make it a complete holiday

Most of these 2028 sailings embark from ports in the United States, which means a transatlantic or transpacific flight is part of the journey. Cruise1st can put the whole trip on one booking — international and domestic flights, hotels the night before or after the cruise, transfers between the airport and the port, and tours at either end. If you are sailing from Sydney or Brisbane, you may not need a flight at all; from anywhere else in Australia, a short domestic leg gets you to the ship. Either way, our team can bundle everything into a Cruise1st Package so there is only one booking to manage. We are accredited members of ATAS, giving you added confidence when you book with us.

Also sailing in 2028

If you are keeping your options open, it is worth looking at what other lines and regions are doing in 2028. The Princess Cruises 2027–2028 season launch covers a wide range of itineraries in the same period. For departures from Brisbane specifically, cruises from Brisbane in January 2028 and cruises from Brisbane in March 2028 list all available lines for those months. If Alaska is on your radar, Alaska cruises 2028 and Vancouver to Alaska cruises 2028 are worth a look alongside Carnival’s own Alaska & West Canada sailings. Australian-departing options from other lines include Carnival cruises from Melbourne and Princess cruises from Sydney in 2028. For April departures in particular, April 2028 Australia cruises covers the full range across all lines sailing from Australian ports that month.

Looking further afield, Christmas cruise 2027 Australia and Royal Caribbean Christmas cruise 2027 Australia are popular pages for those planning the festive season on the water, while New Year cruises 2028 covers departures around the turn of the year. For Sydney-based travellers thinking about the broader 2028 calendar, Singapore to Sydney cruises and cruises from Singapore to Australia in 2028 are worth bookmarking too.

*Prices are per person based on 2 people sharing, and are subject to change. This price is not kept up to date and therefore does not reflect live pricing and availability. Prices and any discounts shown were checked on 14 October 2026.

Where a discount is shown, it is a reduction from the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing, not a comparison between cabin grades or against a brochure rate. Discounts and prices shown are not kept up to date: the reduction available now may be smaller, or may have ended, and prices may have changed.
