Australian cruises in 2028 — where they go and where they leave from

Cruising around Australia in 2028 means voyages that trace the full coastline — east coast, south coast and west coast — with some itineraries extending as far as Singapore. Sailings run from 11 to 32 nights, with a median of 22 nights, so this is genuinely big-ship, long-voyage territory. Most are one-way itineraries: 10 of the 14 sailings travel from one port to another, which means the voyage itself connects two Australian cities (or Australia and Singapore), and a short domestic flight brings the two ends together neatly. Only 2 sailings return to the same port. Browse the full cruise around Australia collection if you want to see what else is on sale beyond 2028.

Which ports can I sail from?

Departures spread across the Australian coast, giving you genuine options regardless of where you live. Sydney is the most active embarkation port, with sailings heading both west around the continent and north toward Singapore. Adelaide and Melbourne both feature as embarkation points for longer circumnavigation voyages. Singapore serves as the starting point for a smaller share of sailings — around a quarter of departures — which then track south and east toward Australian waters; for those, Cruise1st can arrange flights, hotels and transfers before you board, all in one booking.

Because so many of these are one-way itineraries, it is worth thinking about both ends. If your sailing disembarks in Singapore, Perth (Fremantle), or Bali, a return flight home is easy to arrange — and we can book it alongside the cruise. For Sydney arrivals, you have the option of extending your trip in the city before flying home. Talk to our team and we can map the whole journey, not just the cruise itself.

Which cruise lines are sailing around Australia in 2028?

Norwegian Cruise Line has the largest share of 2028 sailings around Australia, with 6 departures on Norwegian Spirit. Princess Cruises offers 6 sailings on Grand Princess, sailing from Australian ports as part of the Princess 2027–2028 season. Oceania Cruises contributes 1 sailing on Vista, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises has 1 sailing on Seven Seas Mariner. Cruise1st Packages — cruise plus flights, hotels and transfers bundled together — account for 4 of the sailings, and are worth considering if you want everything arranged in one place.

If you are looking at Princess Cruises specifically, our dedicated page covering Princess Cruises around Australia 2028 goes into more depth on those itineraries, as does the Princess Cruises from Fremantle 2028 page for west coast departures.

What’s on board the ships?

Norwegian Spirit — Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Spirit carries 6 of the 2028 Australia sailings, making it the most active ship. The ship went through a thorough 2020s refurbishment that added Onda by Scarpetta modern Italian dining to the specialty restaurant lineup, sitting alongside the long-running Cagney’s Steakhouse. Adults travelling without children will appreciate Spice H2O, the ship’s adults-only open-air beach club with an Ibiza-style atmosphere — it is NCL’s signature outdoor entertainment deck and one of the more distinctive spaces at sea. In the evenings, the Stardust Theatre stages original productions nightly, including Blazing Boots, Palace of Lights and ELEMENTS!

Cabin choices on Norwegian Spirit range across four main grades. See the full options on the Norwegian Spirit cabins and deck plans page, or use this list as a starting point:

  • Family Inside cabin I4 — 13.8 m², sleeps 4. A practical choice for families or groups who want extra berths without paying for a sea view.
  • Deluxe Sea-view cabin O3 — 26.7 m², sleeps 3. The largest sea-view cabin on board, offering almost twice the space of a standard ocean-view cabin — natural light without the balcony price.
  • Balcony cabin BA — 15.9 m², sleeps 3. Your own private balcony with sea views, giving you the outdoor space that interior and ocean-view cabins do not.
  • Owner’s Suite SB — 56.2 m², sleeps 2. The most spacious suite on the ship, with a separate bedroom, distinct living and dining area, walk-in wardrobe and a private aft balcony.

Grand Princess — Princess Cruises

Grand Princess offers 4 sailings in 2028, departing from Australian ports. The specialty dining lineup includes Crown Grill, named by USA Today as the best cruise steakhouse, and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria. MedallionClass® technology — accessed through the Princess app — means food, drinks and ship services can be delivered to you anywhere on board via OceanNow®. For evenings on deck, Movies Under the Stars® projects films onto a giant poolside screen, with free popcorn and blankets provided. The Princess Cruises from Sydney 2028 page covers the Sydney departures in more detail, and Crown Princess sailings are covered on the Crown Princess 2028 page if you are comparing ships.

Cabin grades on Grand Princess — full details on the Grand Princess cabins and deck plans page:

  • Inside cabin IA — 14.9 m², sleeps 4. Located on middle decks for minimal ship motion and central access to lifts and onboard facilities.
  • Premium sea-view O3 — 19.1 m², sleeps 4. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows deliver an unobstructed sea view and natural light directly into the cabin.
  • Premium Balcony cabin B2 — 25.5 m², sleeps 4. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors give an open-plan feel and more natural light than standard balcony cabins.
  • Grand Suite S1 — 67.8 m², sleeps 4. The largest suite on board, with a private hot tub — considerably more space than any other suite category on the ship.

Seven Seas Mariner — Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Seven Seas Mariner represents the luxury end of the 2028 Australia sailings. Regent Seven Seas Cruises positions the Mariner around the concept of immersive, fully inclusive voyaging — the fare covers considerably more than the standard cruise ticket. The ship’s Signature Suite SG is one of the most generous cabin grades available on any ship: at 111.9 m² with a verandah area of over 74 m², it is almost 3 times larger than a standard balcony cabin, giving you a private terrace large enough to relax on properly rather than just stand on. Full cabin and deck detail is on the Seven Seas Mariner cabins and deck plans page.

Oceania Cruises sails Vista on 1 itinerary. For cabin and deck detail on Vista, visit the Vista cabins and deck plans page.

What do the fares include?

The fare structure varies by cruise line, and it is worth understanding what is and is not included before you compare headline prices.

Norwegian Cruise Line offers 3 distinct fare tiers on its 2028 Australia sailings. The base fare (Lowest Fare) covers the cruise itself with no packages attached — the right pick if you prefer to choose what you spend on board. The Free at Sea tier adds a Premium Beverage Package, Specialty Dining Package, Wi-Fi and shore excursion credits of US$50 per port for the first 2 guests. The Free at Sea Plus tier extends the dining and beverage package to all guests on the booking, with the number of specialty dining meals scaling to the length of the voyage.

Princess Cruises similarly offers a base fare — Princess Standard — which covers the cruise with beverage packages, Wi-Fi and gratuities available to add. The Princess Plus package, available across several of the 2028 fare types, bundles 4 casual dining meals per voyage, beverages up to $15 each (up to 15 per day), MedallionNet® Max Wi-Fi, pre-paid crew appreciation, unlimited digital photographs plus 3 prints, and reserved theatre seating. It is a strong mid-tier option if you plan to use the ship’s dining venues regularly.

For Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises sailings, speak to our team directly — the inclusions on luxury-tier sailings tend to be more comprehensive and are best compared alongside the cabin grade, not separately.

Are there any discounts on 2028 Australian cruises?

Some 2028 Australia sailings are reduced from their previously listed cabin-grade price. The maximum saving across the sailings measured reaches 18% on a single departure, though that level is the exception. Most discounted sailings are reduced by around 2% from the price previously listed for that cabin grade. If you are flexible on departure date or cabin grade, our team can check what is currently marked down and match it to your circumstances.

Around half of the sailings are all-inclusive in structure, meaning a meaningful share of on-board costs are bundled into the fare rather than charged separately — which changes the real cost comparison considerably. When you speak to our Australian cruise experts, ask them to walk you through the total cost rather than just the headline fare.

Make it a complete holiday

Most of these are one-way itineraries, which means you will either start or finish somewhere that requires a flight to get home — or to get to the ship in the first place. Cruise1st can arrange the whole journey as a single booking: flights, hotels before or after the cruise, transfers between airport and port, and travel insurance. Whether you need a night in Singapore before boarding, a hotel in Sydney after disembarkation, or a domestic flight to reach the departure port, our team handles it alongside the cruise rather than leaving it for you to sort separately.

For a fully bundled option, look at Cruise1st Packages — these combine the cruise with flights, hotels and transfers from the outset, priced together so you know the total cost from the start.

Our Australian cruise experts are available seven days a week. Call to discuss cabin grades, fare inclusions and the logistics of a one-way voyage — that is exactly what they are there for.

What else is sailing in 2028?

If you are exploring options for 2028 more broadly, our 2028 cruises hub covers the full year across all regions. For cruises departing from specific Australian cities in 2028, the 2028 cruises from Sydney and 2028 cruises from Melbourne pages show what is available port by port. For sailings that start or end in Singapore, cruise from Singapore to Australia 2028 and cruises from Singapore 2028 both cover those routes.

If you are browsing by month, cruises in April 2028 around Australia is a good place to start for autumn departures. If you are earlier in your planning and haven not fixed on 2028 yet, cruises across all years and destinations is the widest starting point, and the cruise around Australia hub covers every year with Australian circumnavigation sailings on sale.

For those considering a year earlier, Singapore to Sydney cruises in 2027 and Christmas cruises 2027 around Australia are both popular searches with strong availability, as is the Princess Cruises from Brisbane 2027 page for Queensland departures.

*Prices are per person based on 2 people sharing, and are subject to change. This price is not kept up to date and therefore does not reflect live pricing and availability. Prices and any discounts shown were checked on 14 October 2026.

Where a discount is shown, it is a reduction from the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing, not a comparison between cabin grades or against a brochure rate. Discounts and prices shown are not kept up to date: the reduction available now may be smaller, or may have ended, and prices may have changed.
