What does Carnival cruise and where does it go?

Carnival Cruise Line operates one of the widest-reaching fleets afloat, and the sailings available through Cruise1st reflect that range. The Caribbean is the single biggest destination in the mix — both the broader Caribbean and the Western Caribbean specifically — followed closely by the South Pacific and Australia coastal itineraries. Polynesia, the Western Mediterranean, Central America and the East Coast of America are also represented. Voyage lengths run from short 4-night breaks to longer sailings of 26 nights, with the middle of the range sitting around 8 nights — enough time to see two or three ports in comfort.

Where do Carnival cruises depart from?

Most Carnival sailings depart from the United States. Miami and Galveston are among the busiest US embarkation ports, and Miami is worth pairing with Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) when you search — the two ports are about half an hour apart, so a Florida sailing can leave from either and it is worth checking both for dates and prices. Long Beach handles sailings on the US West Coast, and Seattle is the gateway for Alaska departures. Barcelona serves Mediterranean sailings, and Tampa is another Florida option.

For Australians, the most convenient Carnival departures leave from Sydney and Brisbane. If you live near either port, these sailings need no flight at all — you can board the same day you leave home. From other states, a short domestic hop gets you there; it is still far simpler than flying long-haul to reach a ship. For US departures, we can book your international flights, your hotel the night before, airport transfers and any tours you want along the way — all on one booking through our Cruise1st Packages service.

A portion of Carnival’s itineraries are one-way voyages rather than round trips. On these, the ship starts in one port and finishes in another; a domestic or international flight connects the two ends of your trip, and we can arrange that alongside your cruise.

Which Carnival ships are on sale?

Several ships make up the Carnival fleet available through Cruise1st, each with its own character. Here is what to know about each one.

Carnival Adventure

Carnival Adventure is popular with families and active travellers alike. The EDGE Adventure Park sits high above the deck and combines zip-lining, rock climbing, abseiling and a flying fox — a genuine activity destination in its own right. In the evenings, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Bonsai Sushi and the Blanc de Blanc Uncorked cabaret give adults a strong line-up of dining and entertainment. Younger guests are covered by Camp Ocean (ages 2–11), Circle C and Club O2 teen programmes, while adults seeking quieter time have the Serenity Retreat and the Cloud 9 Spa. For cabin options on Carnival Adventure, see the Carnival Adventure cabins and deck plans.

  • Inside cabin 4A — 15 m², sleeps 4. Walk-in wardrobe and generous storage, well suited to longer voyages.
  • Ocean-view cabin with Porthole (PT) — 15 m², sleeps 4. Two round portholes bring natural light on decks 1–2, with characterful views at a lower price than a balcony.
  • Balcony cabin 8A — 16 m², sleeps 4. Private balcony with glass folding door giving direct access to your own outdoor space and sea views that inside guests do not get.
  • Byron Beach Club Presidential Suite (SB) — 58 m², sleeps 4. More than twice the size of a standard balcony cabin, with an expansive balcony, dressing area and deluxe bathroom.

Carnival Firenze

Carnival Firenze carries 9 restaurants, bars and lounges, so you rarely eat in the same place twice on a week-long sailing. The Carnival WaterWorks water park is aboard, and the ship introduces a brand-new Terrazza cabin category for those who want something a little different. For a full breakdown of what is available, visit the Carnival Firenze cabins and deck plans page.

  • Inside cabin 4A — 16 m², sleeps 4. Slightly roomier than the inside cabin with upper berth, with a more flexible bed configuration.
  • Deluxe Sea-view cabin 6L — 21 m², sleeps 4. A separate vanity area and bathtub alongside the main shower — effectively two bathroom areas, which makes a real difference for couples.
  • Balcony cabin 7C (cove position) — 17 m², sleeps 4. Private balcony for breakfast or a sundowner, in a sheltered cove position that interior and window-cabin guests simply do not have.
  • Ocean Suite (OS) — 26 m², sleeps 4. Spa bath and walk-in wardrobe; nearly twice the living space of a standard balcony cabin.

Carnival Sunshine

Carnival Sunshine is designed with two distinct audiences in mind. The 3-deck adults-only Serenity Retreat gives couples and solo travellers a quieter corner of the ship, while the Speedway Splash water feature and a strong programme of sports activities cater to those who want to stay active. For a closer look at what each grade offers, see the Carnival Sunshine cabins and deck plans.

  • Inside cabin with Porthole (PT) — 16 m², sleeps 4. Two circular portholes bring daylight into the cabin — a step up from a standard inside at a fraction of the balcony price.
  • Sea-view cabin 6A — sleeps 4. A large picture window with an unobstructed sea view delivers natural light and open views that standard inside cabins do not offer.
  • Balcony cabin 8A — 17 m², sleeps 4. Direct access to a private balcony for sundowners or breakfast at sea, without sharing the open decks.
  • Captain’s Suite (CS) — 47 m², sleeps 5. A separate walk-in bedroom, a spacious living room with sofa and armchairs — a genuinely luxurious layout for families or groups of up to 5.

Carnival Spirit

Carnival Spirit carries what is billed as Australia’s largest at-sea waterpark, which tells you something about how seriously Carnival takes its family credentials on Australian routes. The adults-only Serenity area provides a calmer space when you want it, and a range of youth programmes keeps younger passengers well occupied. See the Carnival Spirit cabins and deck plans for full cabin details.

Carnival Miracle

Carnival Miracle stands out for having around 80% of its cabins as outside-facing — a notably high proportion that means most guests wake up to natural light and a view. The Phantom Lounge hosts the ship’s entertainment programme, and there is even a wedding chapel on board for those with bigger plans. Browse the Carnival Miracle cabins and deck plans to find your grade.

Carnival Legend

Carnival Legend has 16 bars and lounges to choose from, including the RedFrog Pub where you can find Australian beers on tap — a detail that goes down well on Australian-market sailings. The Serenity Retreat gives adults their own dedicated space away from the main pool deck. Check the Carnival Legend cabins and deck plans for a full list of grades and sizes.

Close to home — South Pacific, Australia and Polynesia

For Australians who want to stay in the region, Carnival’s South Pacific and Australian coastal sailings are a practical and appealing choice. The South Pacific is one of the largest destination groups in the current mix, with Australian coastal itineraries not far behind. Polynesia rounds out this group for those who want to push a little further into the Pacific. Sydney and Brisbane are the main departure ports for these routes — meaning many of these sailings are genuinely driveable or a short domestic flight away for most Australians. If you are based in Sydney, Carnival sailings from Sydney give you the easiest possible boarding experience, and Carnival sailings from Brisbane are equally convenient for Queensland residents.

The long haul — Caribbean, Mediterranean and Alaska

The Caribbean is the most popular long-haul destination in the Carnival mix, with a strong showing across both the broader Caribbean and the Western Caribbean specifically. These sailings generally depart from Florida and Texas ports, so a flight to the US is the starting point — and our team can package that flight, a night’s hotel in the departure city and airport transfers alongside your cruise booking.

The Western Mediterranean and Central America also feature, with Mediterranean sailings often departing from Barcelona. Alaska sailings depart from Seattle, and if you are drawn to that region, it is worth looking at Vancouver to Alaska cruise options as well. For cheap Mediterranean cruise deals, we have a dedicated page worth checking alongside these Carnival options.

What do Carnival cruise deals include?

Carnival operates several fare types — from more straightforward base fares to options that bundle in extras such as drinks packages, Wi-Fi or shore excursion credit. Fare types such as early-saver rates and last-minute offers appear regularly, so it is worth speaking to one of our Australian cruise experts to find out what is available on the sailing you have in mind. They can also help you weigh up whether a higher fare tier represents genuine value against what you typically spend on board.

There are no all-inclusive sailings in the current Carnival range, so the fare price covers your cabin and most meals; drinks, speciality dining and some activities are typically paid separately. Our team will walk you through exactly what is and is not included before you commit.

How much do Carnival cruises cost?

Carnival cruises start from A$324 pp* — that entry price reflects shorter sailings and inside cabins. Longer voyages, balcony grades and suites sit higher, and US-departing sailings typically carry an additional flight cost. If you are looking for the most affordable options, our cheap Carnival cruises page filters by price, and cruises under A$999 pp* is another useful starting point across all lines. For last-minute availability, last-minute Carnival sailings and our broader last-minute cruise deals page are updated regularly.

Why book Carnival with Cruise1st?

Cruise1st is an ATAS-accredited cruise specialist, and our Australian cruise experts are on hand seven days a week — before you book, not just after. That means you get honest advice on which ship suits your group, which cabin grade gives you the space you actually need, and which fare inclusions are worth paying for on your particular itinerary.

For sailings that involve a flight — and most Carnival departures from the US do — we can build a complete package through Cruise1st Packages: flights, pre-cruise hotel, transfers, tours and insurance, all on one booking. You are not left to stitch together the travel components yourself. And our Best Price Guarantee means that if you find the same cruise cheaper elsewhere, we will match it.

For a broader view of what is available across all lines, our cruise deals and packages hub is a good place to start. You can also browse exclusive cruise deals or check our top cruise deals for highlighted sailings across the fleet. If another line interests you alongside Carnival, Royal Caribbean cruise deals cover a similarly wide range of destinations.

Sailings by departure port and year

Carnival sailings available through Cruise1st run across multiple years, giving you a range of planning horizons. Whether you are looking to travel soon or prefer to lock in a sailing well in advance, there is likely something that fits. Browse Carnival sailings in 2026, Carnival sailings in 2027 or Carnival sailings in 2028 to narrow your search by year.

By departure port, Carnival from Sydney and Carnival from Brisbane are the most convenient Australian options. If you are based in Victoria, Carnival from Melbourne is worth a look too. And if the Melbourne Cup carnival aligns with your plans, there is even a dedicated Melbourne Cup cruise from Sydney option.

For Sydney departures more broadly, round-trip cruises from Sydney and cheap cruise deals from Sydney cover options across all cruise lines. Brisbane travellers can also browse cruise deals from Brisbane in 2027 and cruise deals from Brisbane in 2028, as well as all cruise offers and deals from Brisbane. For Sydney-specific value hunting, discount cruises from Sydney is another useful filter. If you are in Melbourne, cheap cruises from Melbourne covers your options across lines. And for Mediterranean travellers, see our Mediterranean cruise deals and offers and all-inclusive Mediterranean cruises in 2027.

*Prices are per person based on 2 people sharing, and are subject to change. This price is not kept up to date and therefore does not reflect live pricing and availability. Prices and any discounts shown were checked on 14 October 2026.

Where a discount is shown, it is a reduction from the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing, not a comparison between cabin grades or against a brochure rate. Discounts and prices shown are not kept up to date: the reduction available now may be smaller, or may have ended, and prices may have changed.
