All 14 sailings depart from Sydney and return to Sydney — every one a round trip, which means you drive or fly in once and you’re home the same way. Fares start from A$378 pp*, and trips run from 2 to 4 nights, with a typical sailing sitting at 3 nights. That’s long enough to genuinely relax, and short enough to suit a long weekend. Four cruise lines sail these itineraries: Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean.
Carnival leads the pack with the most departures, followed by Celebrity, Princess and Royal Caribbean. Each line has a different personality, and the ships they send to Sydney reflect that.
Carnival places the most sailings, split across two ships based in Sydney: Carnival Adventure and Carnival Splendor. If you want a short cruise that feels anything but small, these are your ships.
Carnival Adventure is the one for the thrill-seekers in your group. The EDGE Adventure Park towers above the deck with zip-lining, rock climbing, abseiling and a flying fox — a proper adventure, not just a deck feature. When the excitement winds down, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse and Bonsai Sushi keep the evening interesting, and Blanc de Blanc Uncorked cabaret takes it further. Families are well catered for: Camp Ocean covers ages 2–11, Circle C and Club O2 handle the teens, and the adults-only Serenity Retreat and Cloud 9 Spa offer a quieter corner for everyone else. Check the Carnival Adventure cabin grades and deck plans before you book.
Carnival Splendor brings the waterpark energy: the Green Lightning waterslide and WaterWorks™ waterpark thrill all ages, while the retractable-roof midship pool means you can swim whatever the weather. Guy’s Burger Joint, Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and Masala Tiger give you real dining variety for a ship this size. The Cloud 9 Spa™ features Thalassotherapy pools and thermal suites alongside the adults-only Serenity Retreat. Browse the Carnival Splendor cabins and deck plans to find the right grade.
Celebrity Edge brings a genuinely different ship to the Sydney market. The Magic Carpet — the world’s first cantilevered floating platform — travels 16 storeys up the hull and functions as a bar, a restaurant or a dive deck depending on the day. Infinite Veranda staterooms fold away the entire balcony wall, so the boundary between your cabin and the ocean simply disappears. Eden’s three-level live-performance venue and Le Petit Chef’s 3D animated dinner show set a high bar for onboard entertainment. See the full Celebrity Edge cabin and deck plan options when you’re ready to choose your grade.
Royal Princess is worth singling out for the SeaWalk — an 18-metre glass-bottomed walkway suspended 40 metres above the ocean, which is one of the most dramatic ship features you’ll find anywhere at sea. MedallionClass® OceanNow® lets you order food and drinks to wherever you happen to be on the ship via the Princess app, and Crown Grill and Sabatini’s handle the serious dining. Check Royal Princess cabins and deck plans for a closer look. For the full Princess programme coming up, see the Princess 2027–2028 season launch.
Royal Caribbean brings two very different ships. Anthem of the Seas holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest viewing deck at sea — the North Star observation capsule sits 300 feet above the waves. The RipCord by iFLY skydiving simulator, SeaPlex bumper cars and the Two70° venue with its 4K immersive performances make this one of Royal Caribbean’s most tech-forward ships afloat. Anthem of the Seas cabin grades and deck plans are worth a look before you commit to a grade. Voyager of the Seas rounds out the Royal Caribbean offer with a Studio B ice-skating rink hosting professional shows, a FlowRider surf simulator and the Royal Beach Club Lelepa — Royal Caribbean’s own private cruise beach destination in the South Pacific. Deck plans for Voyager of the Seas are available if you want to pick your position on the ship.
Most ships on these sailings offer a range of grades from interior rooms right through to suite-level accommodation. Here is how the grades stack up on 3 of the ships:
Celebrity Cruises offers 3 fare tiers on its Sydney sailings. The cruise-only rate gives you the lowest entry price and lets you add extras later. The mid-tier brings a classic drinks package and basic Wi-Fi bundled in. For suite guests, The Retreat adds premium drinks, premium Wi-Fi, exclusive lounge access, a private resort-style sundeck and dedicated personal service.
Princess Cruises sails with a Standard fare — covering the cruise itself — and a Princess Plus tier that stacks in 4 casual dining meals per voyage, beverages up to A$15 each (up to 15 per day), MedallionNet® Max Wi-Fi, pre-paid crew appreciation, unlimited digital photos plus 3 prints, and reserved theatre seating.
Royal Caribbean offers fare types such as Last-Minute fares and group-booking offers, depending on when and how you book. Talk to our team about which tier suits your party — a solo traveller, a couple and a family of four all have different sweet spots.
Some sailings are reduced from their previously listed price. Savings reach up to 23% on a single departure, though most reduced sailings sit closer to 12% off that cabin grade’s earlier price. It’s worth checking individual sailings rather than waiting: short getaways from Sydney move quickly, and the best-priced cabins go first. You can also browse cruise deals under A$999 pp* for a wider set of value options, or see our cruise deals page for the full picture.
Booking through Cruise1st’s Sydney cruises page gives you access to our Australian cruise experts seven days a week — people who know these ships and these itineraries, and can help you weigh up a balcony cabin against a suite or a cruise-only fare against a package. If you’re flying in from another state, we can add flights, hotels the night before, airport transfers and travel insurance as a Cruise1st Package — one booking, everything covered. That’s true whether you’re joining the ship at Sydney’s main cruise terminal or at White Bay. If you want to travel independently and sort your own extras, the cruise-only fares are there for that too.
For a broader look at what’s sailing around Australia, visit our Australia cruises page, or head to Oz Cruises for the full domestic picture. If you’re weighing up another departure port, last-minute deals from Brisbane and cheap cruises from Melbourne are also worth a look. And if you’d rather browse deals from a different angle, cruise offers and deals from Brisbane covers another popular embarkation city.
With sailings running from 2 to 4 nights, these are genuine short getaways rather than long-haul voyages. If 2 nights is exactly what you’re after, see 2-night cruises from Sydney for sailings filtered to that duration. For a broader set of short options, short cruises from Sydney covers the range. Specific seasonal windows worth checking: Easter 2027 cruises from Sydney and Christmas 2026 cruise deals in Australia both have dedicated pages with their own sailings. If you want every Sydney departure regardless of price or duration, Sydney to Sydney cruises and 2026 cruises from Sydney give you the complete view. For itineraries that stop specifically at Tasmanian ports, Tasmania cruises from Sydney narrows things down further. And if you want to find what’s sailing from the whole country, Cruise1st’s full cruise search is the place to start.
*Prices are per person based on 2 people sharing, and are subject to change. This price is not kept up to date and therefore does not reflect live pricing and availability. Prices and any discounts shown were checked on 14 October 2026.
Where a discount is shown, it is a reduction from the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing, not a comparison between cabin grades or against a brochure rate. Discounts and prices shown are not kept up to date: the reduction available now may be smaller, or may have ended, and prices may have changed.
