What does the Princess Cruises Australia season cover in 2026–2027?

The Princess Cruises Australia season stretches from coastal round trips of just a few nights to voyages of more than four months at sea. Itineraries depart from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth (Fremantle), as well as from Singapore, Auckland and Los Angeles. A strong majority of sailings are one-way voyages rather than round trips, so many itineraries finish in a different port from where they began — worth keeping in mind when you plan how to get home. The Australia region leads by some distance, with transpacific crossings, New Zealand, the South Pacific and round-the-world sailings also on the schedule.

Where do Princess sailings go in this season?

Close to home — Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific

The largest share of sailings stays within the region, making this the natural choice if you want to explore closer to home. Australia and New Zealand combination itineraries cross the Tasman and take in ports on both coasts, while dedicated New Zealand voyages focus on the South Island and the North. South Pacific sailings and Polynesia itineraries push further out into the ocean, with South East Asia sailings connecting the season to Singapore.

If you live close to a departure port, you can drive or take the train to the wharf and be at sea the same afternoon with no airport involved. If you’re travelling in from another state, a short domestic hop is all it takes — still far simpler than flying long-haul to reach a ship. On one-way itineraries, the voyage ends in a different city; a domestic flight connects the two, and our team can book it as part of the same package.

Planning around Easter? See our guide to Easter cruises 2027 from Sydney, or explore the broader cruise around Australia in 2027 options. If Christmas is on your mind, Christmas cruises 2026 from Australia and our Christmas cruises Australia 2026 pages cover what’s available across the season.

The long haul — transpacific crossings and round the world

Transpacific sailings are the second-biggest group on the season, crossing to Los Angeles or originating there and sailing west. These are proper ocean passages — long stretches of open sea, a handful of island stops, and a finish in a city on the other side of the Pacific. A domestic flight at one end and an international one at the other is the practical reality; we book both, along with any hotels you need either side, as a single holiday.

A smaller number of round-the-world sailings run for up to 129 nights, calling at ports across multiple continents. If that’s the trip you’ve been thinking about for years, our cruise experts can help you work through the cabin categories, the fare inclusions and the logistics. There are also sailings into East Asia and one touching the Mediterranean, for those who want to combine the Princess Australia season with something further afield.

Which ships sail the Princess Australia season?

Five Princess ships operate this season. Here’s what makes each one distinct.

Grand Princess

Grand Princess carries the most sailings of any ship this season, running from Sydney and Brisbane. The specialty dining lineup includes the Crown Grill — named by USA Today as the best cruise steakhouse — and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria. Out on deck, Movies Under the Stars® puts a giant screen by the pool, with free popcorn and blankets included. And the MedallionClass® OceanNow® system means you can order food, drinks and services to wherever you happen to be on the ship through the Princess app. See the Grand Princess cabins and deck plans to find the right grade.

  • Inside cabin IA — 14.9 m², sleeps 4. Positioned on middle decks for minimal motion and easy access to lifts.
  • Premium sea view O3 — 19.1 m², sleeps 4. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic window with an unobstructed sea view.
  • Premium Balcony cabin B2 — 25.5 m², sleeps 4. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open the cabin up to the outside.
  • Grand Suite S1 with private hot tub — 67.8 m², sleeps 4. The largest suite on board, with a private hot tub on the balcony.

Royal Princess

Royal Princess is best known for its SeaWalk — an 18-metre glass-bottomed walkway that extends out over the ocean 40 metres above the waterline. It’s one of the most striking features on any ship at sea, and nothing else on this season matches it. Dining follows a similar pattern to her fleet-mates: Crown Grill and Sabatini’s for specialty meals, and the 24-hour International Café when you want something at any hour. MedallionClass OceanNow is fully operational, so nothing is ever more than a tap away. Check Royal Princess cabin grades and deck plans before you book.

  • Inside cabin IA — 15.4 m², sleeps 4. Includes minibar, safe and desk.
  • Sea-view cabin O6 — 20.0 m², sleeps 4. Large panoramic window with a forward-facing ocean view.
  • Deluxe Balcony cabin DA — 23.4 m², sleeps 4. Your own private balcony for breakfast or sundowners.
  • Penthouse Suite S3 with aft balcony — 54.5 m², sleeps 4. The largest cabin on board, with significantly more living space than any other grade.

Sapphire Princess

Sapphire Princess completed a refit in 2025 and homeports at Fremantle for the 2027–28 season, which makes her the obvious choice if Perth is your local port. The refit added Crown Grill and the new Makoto Ocean Sushi by Chef Makoto Okuwa to the specialty dining roster. Her version of MedallionClass runs through a wearable Medallion device — no app or phone required, which some guests find simpler. The Sapphire Princess cabin and deck guide has the full breakdown; Princess cruises from Fremantle in 2027 and Princess cruises from Fremantle in 2028 are worth checking if you’re planning around the west coast.

  • Inside cabin IA — 15.6 m², sleeps 4. Mid-deck position for quiet conditions and good stability.
  • Premium sea-view cabin O5 — 18.3 m², sleeps 4. Panoramic window with a bow view and natural daylight.
  • Balcony cabin B2 — 25.7 m², sleeps 4. Private balcony with direct access to fresh sea air.
  • Grand Suite S1 — 123.5 m², sleeps 4. The largest suite on the ship, with a separate living room and dining area.

Coral Princess

Coral Princess is the narrowest ship in the fleet at 91,627 GT, and that slim profile matters: she can navigate waterways and call at smaller island ports that the larger vessels simply cannot reach. Her Universe Lounge has 3 revolving stages — used for everything from cooking demonstrations to cabaret and fashion shows — which is genuinely unusual at sea. Crown Grill, Sabatini’s and The Sanctuary adults-only retreat on the top deck round out the experience. See the Coral Princess cabins and deck plans for grades and sizes.

Crown Princess

Crown Princess came out of dry dock in Singapore in 2025 with a refreshed Crown Grill and Sabatini’s, a new O’Malley’s Irish Pub and a redesigned Gatsby’s Casino. She sails from Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle, Adelaide and Brisbane, making her one of the few ships this season to offer full circumnavigation itineraries around the country. Her cabins and deck plans are worth reviewing early — Crown Princess sailings sell quickly.

What fare types does Princess Cruises offer?

Princess operates 3 main fare tiers on this season’s sailings.

Princess Standard is the base cruise fare, covering accommodation and main dining. The Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages are available to add on separately rather than bundled in, so this suits anyone who wants to pick and choose their extras.

Princess Plus is the most popular mid-tier package. It includes 4 casual dining meals per voyage, beverages up to A$15 each (with a daily limit of 15 drinks), MedallionNet® Max Wi-Fi, pre-paid crew appreciation, unlimited digital photos plus 3 prints, and reserved theatre seating. For most guests travelling as a couple, the drinks and Wi-Fi alone justify the step up.

Our Australian cruise experts can walk you through which tier makes sense for your party size and how you like to cruise — call us seven days a week, or start a booking online.

Are there any Princess Cruises deals available?

A good number of sailings in this season carry a reduced fare against that cabin grade’s previous listed price. The maximum reduction available reaches up to 41% on a single departure, though most discounted sailings sit around 7% off. It’s worth checking the specific sailing you want rather than assuming a broad sale — the savings vary significantly by departure date and cabin category.

Princess also runs fare promotions from time to time, such as last-minute offers and early booking incentives. Our Best Price Guarantee means that if you find the same sailing cheaper elsewhere after booking with us, we’ll match it.

Planning a family cruise with Princess?

The Princess Australia season suits families well, particularly on round-trip departures from Sydney and Brisbane where you board and disembark at the same port — no return travel to arrange. Itinerary lengths run from short coastal hops of a few nights up to longer voyages, so there’s flexibility depending on school holidays and how much time you have.

All 5 ships on this season carry specialty dining that suits different ages, and the MedallionClass OceanNow system means anyone in the group can order to wherever they are on the ship without queuing. If your travel includes Easter or Christmas, our dedicated Easter 2027 cruises from Sydney and Christmas 2026 Australia cruises pages show what’s available at those peak times.

How do we make booking easier?

Cruise1st is a cruise specialist — every booking is a cruise or a cruise-inclusive package. Our team can add flights, hotels, tours, transfers and insurance around your cruise, either as a bundled Cruise1st Package or a fully custom holiday built around what you need.

For sailings that start or finish outside Australia — in Los Angeles, Singapore or Auckland — we can book the international flights, any hotel nights either side and the transfers, all on one booking. You shouldn’t have to stitch that together yourself. Our Australian cruise experts are available seven days a week to help you work through the options before you commit.

Other cruise lines sailing Australia in 2026–2027

If you’re keeping your options open, the Australia season also features sailings from Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Cunard and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, among others. The broader 2027 cruises page covers all lines and regions if you haven’t settled on a destination yet.

For the season ahead, it’s also worth looking at the Princess Cruises 2027–2028 season launch if you want to plan further in advance, or the Princess Cruises around Australia 2027 page if a full circumnavigation is what you have in mind.

Thinking about other dates or regions?

If your plans extend beyond this season, New Zealand cruises in 2026 and New Zealand cruises in 2027 are natural companions to the Princess Australia sailings. For something further afield, Asia cruises in 2027 and Mediterranean cruises in 2027 cover the long-haul options. The South Pacific cruises from Sydney in 2027 and Christmas cruises to New Zealand pages are worth a look if either of those directions appeals.

Where a discount is shown, it is a reduction from the price previously listed for that cabin grade on that sailing, not a comparison between cabin grades or against a brochure rate. Discounts and prices shown are not kept up to date: the reduction available now may be smaller, or may have ended, and prices may have changed.
