AmaDara is a river cruise ship built in 2015 for AmaWaterways, designed specifically for sailing the Mekong River. Dining on AmaDara

AmaDara offers two distinct dining experiences, both included in your cruise fare and open to all guests.

The Main Restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship. Open seating means you dine when you like and with whom you choose, while the menu leans into the regional cuisines of the countries you're sailing through — all with river views alongside. For something more intimate, The Chef's Table stages a multi-course tasting menu prepared by a dedicated chef in front of you. It's culinary theatre in a small-group setting, and it carries no extra charge.

The Specialty Coffee & Tea Station rounds out the picture: complimentary self-service coffees and teas are available throughout the day, whether you need an early-morning start before a shore excursion or a quiet afternoon break.

On-board spaces and activities

The Main Lounge is where the ship comes alive socially. Pull up a stool at the fully stocked bar, settle in for an informative talk about the next port of call, or stay for live entertainment in the evening. Drinks are charged separately unless you hold a beverage package, but the space itself is open to everyone.

Up on the Sun Deck, unobstructed views of the Mekong unfold in every direction. The Heated Sun-Deck Pool — complete with a swim-up bar — gives you a resort-style splash without leaving the ship, and the Walking Track around the upper deck is there for anyone who wants to keep moving between ports.

The Fitness Centre offers modern cardio and strength-training equipment at no charge (specialist classes carry a fee), and the Massage & Hair Salon is available for treatments at an additional cost. When you'd rather sit quietly, the Library provides books and games in a relaxed setting included in your fare. The Gift Shop carries souvenirs and essentials, and the Complimentary Bicycle Fleet lets you explore each port at your own pace — no guided tour required.

The Balcony Cabin A spans 23.3 m² and gives you a private balcony — your own slice of fresh air and uninterrupted river views without stepping into a shared space. Both grades sleep two guests.

For the most generous space on board, the Luxury Suite L stretches to 46.6 m², incorporating a full separate sitting area alongside the bedroom. At roughly double the floor area of a standard balcony cabin, it's the right choice if you want room to spread out over a longer itinerary.

Do I need to book flights separately?

Every AmaDara sailing currently on sale departs from Cambodia or Vietnam, so international flights from Australia are required. Cruise1st can include flights, pre- and post-cruise hotels and transfers in the same booking through our Cruise1st Package — you don't need to arrange them independently.
