Cuba and Havana in particular has recently become the go to place for new and experienced cruisers. Havana is like a city stuck in a time warp and needs to be visited soon before it changes forever.
With the bright and vibrant colours of the buildings and old American style cars, you'll also notice the aroma of the famous cigars Havana boasts seeping through the air. Havana is Cuba's capital city and has over 2 million inhabitents, making it a must see place when you are docked here with plentiful historical artifacts and museums.
The Old Havana (Vieja Habana) is an UNESCO world heritage site featuring Plaza San Francisco de Asis, Plaza de Armas and Plaza de la Cathedral. The local pub here is called Bodeguita del Medio and has had plenty of high profile clientele including Ernst Hemingway, Salvador Allende and Pablo Nerudo all enjoying a beverage or two down the years.
