Renaissance entered service in 2025 and sails under Ambassador Cruise Line. Here are the essentials a traveller sizes her up by:
Current sailings run up to 24 nights, departing from late September 2026 onwards — a mix of Southern Caribbean voyages and broader Caribbean itineraries.
Renaissance carries a wide spread of dining options, from an included main restaurant to several à la carte and speciality venues for guests who want something more exploratory.
Buckingham Restaurant is the ship's main dining room, open from breakfast through to dinner and included in your cruise fare. On gala evenings, it brings out its finest — capped with the traditional Baked Alaska parade. Borough Market offers a casual, global buffet across multiple stations (Asian fusion, fish and chips, vegetarian and desserts), also included, with a bar alongside. For something open-air and quick, the Alfresco Grill serves burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and chips on the open deck, equally included in your fare. Complimentary coffee and tea by experienced baristas are on tap at the Coffee House on the Lido Deck.
If you want to step beyond your main dining package, the options are genuinely varied. Saffron brings Indian and Goan cuisine to an intimate setting, with Thai and South-East Asian dishes appearing on longer voyages — à la carte and bookable onboard. Lupino's goes Mediterranean, with fresh salads, mezze and regional specialities in a relaxed, al-fresco atmosphere. Sea & Grass is a seven-course speciality restaurant personally composed by the Executive Chef, celebrating the pairing of fish and meat — a cover charge applies. The Grill, a speciality steakhouse serving premium cuts, pops up on select evenings within Sea & Grass and Lupino's. For something truly exclusive, the Chef's Table offers a nine-course tasting menu — optionally matched with five wines — for food enthusiasts after a world-class cooking experience; onboard booking and an additional charge are required. Holyrood Restaurant rounds things out with British classics such as Sunday roast and shepherd's pie alongside more refined dishes like duck confit and paella Valenciana, across breakfast, lunch and dinner — each charged à la carte.
Renaissance has one of the more characterful bar programmes you'll find on a ship of her size. Raffles Bar steps into 1920s-inspired décor, with stylish cocktails — think Mint Berry Delight and Botanical Fusion — ideal as an aperitif before dinner. The Botanical Lounge is the gin lover's retreat, with a curated gin selection and personalised cocktails including creative signatures such as Thyme to Gin. The Observatory spans floor-to-ceiling windows for daytime wildlife-spotting or horizon-watching; come evening, a DJ takes over for dancing. The Purple Turtle delivers an authentic British pub atmosphere onboard, while the Purple Turtle Wine Bar is the natural pre-show stop. SW19 sits at the heart of the ship as a casual meeting point where bartenders mix cocktails and hot and cold beverages. The Consulate Bar at the ship's aft is perfect for departure drinks with an ocean backdrop, and the poolside Pool Bar keeps things relaxed with ocean views. Entry is free at all bars; drinks are charged separately unless covered by a beverage package.
Renaissance offers four cabin categories, and the full breakdown of grades and deck plans is on the Renaissance cabins and deck plans page. A summary of what's available:
All cabin categories are open to all guests. For a detailed look at layouts and deck positions, the cabins page has everything you need before you decide.
The overwhelming majority of Renaissance sailings head to the Caribbean — most of them in the Southern Caribbean, departing from Bridgetown, Barbados. A smaller number sail under the broader Caribbean banner. One sailing departs from Tilbury (London), making it part of a longer journey for those travelling from the UK.
For Australians, every sailing requires an international flight to reach the embarkation port. At Cruise1st, we treat this as an opportunity rather than a complication: the cruise sits in the middle of a longer trip, and we can book the flights, the hotel either side and the transfers as one holiday through our Cruise1st Packages. That means one booking, one point of contact, and no loose ends.
If you're browsing by year or departure region, our Caribbean cruises in 2026 and Caribbean cruises in 2027 pages show the full picture, and you can also search Caribbean cruises from Sydney to filter by departure point.
Cruise1st is Australia's cruise specialist, with experts available seven days a week to help you choose the right itinerary, the right cabin grade and the right fare inclusions for your circumstances. We back every booking with our Best Price Guarantee — the brand's own named promise, stated site-wide. And because every Renaissance sailing requires a flight from Australia, our Cruise1st Packages service is particularly useful here: we bundle the cruise, flights, hotel nights and transfers into a single holiday so nothing falls through the gaps.
Renaissance is operated by Ambassador Cruise Line. You can read more about the line's approach and its full fleet on the Ambassador Cruise Line page.
Yes — Ambassador Cruise Line has other ships in its fleet. Ambition and Ambience are both available on Cruise1st and may be sailing different itineraries or departure dates that suit you better.
Inside cabins are the most affordable and practical if your priority is the destination. Sea view cabins add natural light. Balcony cabins give you private outdoor space — often the most popular choice on Caribbean sailings where the warm evenings are worth sitting out in. Suites at 38 m² offer the most space and the best outdoor retreat. Our Australian cruise experts can walk through the options with you — call seven days a week.
Yes. Renaissance departs from Bridgetown in Barbados for the majority of its itineraries, and one sailing departs from Tilbury in London — both require flying from Australia. Through Cruise1st Packages, we book the flights, any hotel nights and transfers alongside the cruise as a single booking.
Current sailings run from shorter Caribbean voyages up to 24 nights, all departing from late September 2026. The Southern Caribbean accounts for most of the available itineraries, with a smaller selection covering the broader Caribbean region.
