The Living Room sits at the heart of the ship, with generous seating and live classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians. Torshavn takes its cues from Hollywood's golden age of jazz, a relaxed evening spot with cocktails and live music. The Explorers' Lounge wraps two storeys of panoramic windows around you, perfect for watching the Douro landscape pass. The Atrium provides a central meeting point, and the Clinker Bar within the Living Room atrium channels a distinctly Nordic atmosphere, its design evoking ancient longships. Pools, wellness and activities

Viking Gyda carries two pools, both included in your fare. The Main Pool with Retractable Roof enables year-round swimming whatever the weather, and doubles as an open-air cinema in the evenings with films on a large poolside screen. The Infinity Pool — described as one of the first of its kind at sea — is framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that blur the line between ship and destination; a hot tub and the adjacent Aquavit Terrace complete the setting.

The Nordic Spa is open to all guests with no entry fee; it includes a sauna and snow grotto, while individual treatments and classes carry a separate charge. The Fitness Centre is fully equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and free-weight space — complimentary to use, with some classes charged separately. On the Sports Deck, a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard keep things active in the open air; guided yoga classes carry a separate charge.
