Holland America Lines’ Oosterdam was launched in 2003 by Dutch Royalty and was the second in the Vista Class ships. In keeping with the Holland America Cruise Lines tradition, the centrepiece of the three-storey Atrium is a Waterford crystal globe, marking the presence of mariners around the world for the past 142 years of circumnavigation. The Mexican Riviera, Hawaii, and Alaska are the Oosterdam's favourite haunts.
Activities onboard range from the famous Greenhouse Spa and Salon, the Thermal Pool, Hydro Suite, and Fitness Centre—to the Show Lounge and Casino. Every day onboard offers the opportunity to enjoy as many activities as you please. If you have children, you'll be pleased to know that the Club Hal facilities and the Loft Club will keep them occupied while you relax—in fact, you might not need to see them for the rest of your holiday!
Evenings light up in the Northern Lights nightclub and bar, and you can savour a relaxing drink in the Atrium or catch up on the game in the Sports Bar. There’s also the Crow’s Nest and the Piano Bar, or you can catch a show in the Vista Show Lounge.
Dining venues include the Vista Main Dining Room for a more traditional dining experience, or a more relaxed dinner at the Lido buffet. The Pinnacle Grill does great steaks, while Canaletto gives you an authentic taste of Italy. If you’re after something unusual, head to Le Cirque for high-end dining that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
The Oosterdam is a graceful mid-size ship with a generous amount of space in line with the Holland America brand. There are five main types of stateroom onboard: Interior cabins, Ocean-view, Verandah (Balcony), Vista Suites, and Neptune Suites. Stateroom amenities include but are not limited to:
