Dining on Viking Rota

Viking Rota has eight distinct dining venues, ranging from a complimentary main restaurant to speciality options that carry a separate charge.

The Restaurant is the ship's main dining room, included in your cruise fare, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a menu of regional specialities and classic dishes. World Café offers open-kitchen live cooking with international dishes and premium sushi and seafood, and connects directly to the outdoor Aquavit Terrace — so you can eat with the river as your backdrop in any season. The Pool Grill keeps things casual with freshly prepared dishes and a salad bar, included in your fare, while the Wintergarden serves complimentary afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and classical music beside the main pool.

For something more considered, Mamsen's — located in the Explorers' Lounge — brings authentic Norwegian specialities at no extra cost, from breakfast through to dinner. Speciality dining includes Manfredi's Italian Restaurant, an à la carte trattoria with a private dining room option; The Chef's Table, a multi-course tasting menu with sommelier-paired wines requiring a reservation; and The Kitchen Table, an interactive culinary experience built around local ingredients and cooking techniques. Bars, lounges and entertainment

Viking Rota's social spaces are designed around the idea of unhurried discovery. The Living Room sits at the heart of the ship, with generous seating, live classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians and curated daily activities — entry is free, with beverages charged separately. The Torshavn lounge channels the atmosphere of a 1940s Hollywood jazz bar, with live music and cocktails. The Explorers' Lounge rises over two storeys of panoramic windows, giving sweeping views of the passing river landscape, while the Atrium and the Nordic-themed Clinker Bar offer further spots to settle in with a drink.

The Theater seats up to 450 guests for lectures, films and TED Talks, and can be reconfigured into two HD cinemas — all at no extra cost. The Nordic Spa is open to all guests at no charge — access to the sauna and snow grotto is complimentary, with individual treatments available separately.
