Dining on Viking Ptah

Viking Ptah carries a full range of dining venues, from an included main restaurant to speciality options with à la carte pricing.

The Restaurant is the ship's main dining room, serving regional specialities and classic dishes surrounded by floor-to-ceiling river views — fully included in your cruise fare. For casual meals poolside, the Pool Grill offers freshly prepared dishes and a salad bar at no extra charge. The World Café features open kitchens with live cooking and international dishes, with indoor seating or the option to step out onto the Aquavit Terrace®, which positions your destination as the backdrop to every meal.

The Wintergarden serves complimentary afternoon tea — finger sandwiches, fresh scones, pastries and international teas — beside the main pool, with classical music from the onboard musician. Mamsen's®, located in the Explorers' Lounge, brings Norwegian specialities across breakfast, lunch and dinner at no extra cost.

For something more special, The Chef's Table offers a multi-course tasting menu with sommelier-paired wines; reservations are required and a cover charge applies. Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® recreates a trattoria atmosphere with authentic Italian cuisine; à la carte pricing applies. The Kitchen Table is an interactive culinary experience built around local ingredients and regional cooking techniques — confirm whether it is included or carries a reservation fee when you book.

Bars and social spaces

Viking Ptah's social life centres on several distinct lounges, each with its own character.

The Living Room sits at the heart of the ship, with generous seating, a calm atmosphere and live classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians. Entry is free; beverages and food are charged separately unless included in your package. Torshavn® evokes Hollywood's golden age of jazz lounges, with live music and cocktails (beverages charged separately). The Explorers' Lounge wraps two-storey panoramic windows around a relaxed space ideal for watching the Nile pass by. The Atrium and its Clinker Bar, designed with references to ancient Nordic longships, offer another social hub at no entry cost.

Pools, wellness and activities

The ship carries two pool options. The Main Pool with Retractable Roof makes swimming practical in any weather and doubles as an evening film venue with a large poolside screen. The Infinity Pool — with floor-to-ceiling windows creating the sensation of floating above the river — includes a hot tub and teak surround, and connects to the Aquavit Terrace for evening dining.

Wellness is centred on The Nordic Spa, where access is complimentary; individual treatments and classes carry a separate charge. The Fitness Centre provides treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes and open space for yoga and pilates — equipment use is included. The Hair Salon offers styling and the Royal Nordic Hair Ritual at a separate charge. On deck, the Sports Deck provides a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard; guided yoga classes there carry an additional fee.

The Theater seats guests for lectures, TED Talks and films on a large screen, and can be divided into two HD cinemas — all at no extra cost. Guest Services operates around the clock for excursion bookings, restaurant reservations and shore arrangements.

The Standard Stateroom B (21.6 m²) is a river-view outside cabin with a half-height picture window, sleeping two — natural light and waterfront scenery without leaving your room. A step up, the Veranda Stateroom A (22.2 m²) adds a full-size veranda with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, giving private outdoor access to the river at a modest upgrade. At the top, the Explorer Suite ES (48.8 m², sleeping up to four) includes the complimentary Silver Spirits beverage package, laundry service and in-room breakfast — premium inclusions that are not available in the lower grades.
