Viking Honir is a river cruise ship built in 2025 and operated by Viking River Cruises. She carries up to 190 guests in 95 cabins, attended by a crew of 53, and stretches 135 metres in length. She is among the newest vessels in the Viking fleet and sails two of Europe's great inland waterways: the Rhine and the Danube.

Dining on Viking Honir

Viking Honir carries a full range of dining venues, from an included main restaurant to speciality experiences that carry a separate charge.

The Restaurant is the principal dining room, serving regional specialities and classic dishes through floor-to-ceiling windows — included in your cruise fare and open for relaxed dinners as the ship moves between ports. The World Café takes a different approach: open kitchens with live cooking, international dishes and premium sushi and seafood, with the option to carry your plate out to the Aquavit Terrace® and dine in the open air directly above the river. The Pool Grill on Deck 7 keeps things casual, with freshly prepared dishes and a salad bar for lighter bites between swims — also included.

For something more considered, the Wintergarden on Deck 7 Midship serves complimentary afternoon tea: finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and international teas accompanied by live classical music. Mamsen's®, tucked inside the Explorers' Lounge on Deck 7, offers Norwegian specialities at breakfast, lunch and dinner at no extra cost — a nod to the Nordic heritage that runs through the whole ship.

Speciality dining carries a separate charge. Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® on Aft Deck 1 recreates an Italian trattoria with à la carte and cover-charge pricing. The Chef's Table, also on Aft Deck 1, is a multi-course tasting menu paired by sommeliers — reservations required. The Kitchen Table on Deck 1 Aft is an interactive culinary experience built around regional ingredients; confirm inclusion status when you book.

Bars, lounges and entertainment

Social life on Viking Honir revolves around several distinct spaces, each with its own atmosphere. The Living Room is the social heart of the ship: generous seating, a calm atmosphere and live classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians. Beverages are charged separately unless your package covers them. The Clinker Bar within the Living Room atrium takes its design from ancient longships and creates a distinctive Nordic setting for pre-dinner drinks.

Torshavn® channels the golden age of Hollywood jazz lounges — live music, cocktails and premium spirits in an evening setting. The Explorers' Lounge frames the passing riverscape through two-storey panoramic windows, giving you a front-row view of the Rhine or Danube as the ship glides between cities. The Atrium provides a lighter, airier meeting point for a cocktail and conversation.

The Theater seats up to 450 guests for lectures, films and TED Talks, and can be divided into two HD cinemas — all included in your fare. The Sports Deck adds outdoor activity options including a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard; guided classes such as yoga carry a separate charge.

Wellness on Viking Honir

The Nordic Spa is open to all guests at no charge for access, with a sauna and snow grotto on offer; individual treatments and classes are priced separately. The Fitness Center provides treadmills, elliptical machines and exercise bikes alongside free-weight and stretching space — complimentary to use. The onboard Hair Salon offers cuts, styling and the Royal Nordic Hair Ritual at a separate charge.

The Main Pool with Retractable Roof means swimming is not weather-dependent: the heated pool stays open year-round, and in the evening the poolside screen shows films under the open sky. The Infinity Pool — one of the first of its kind in river cruising — has floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the destination while you swim, alongside a hot tub and teak surround.

The Explorer Suite (ES) at 41.3 m² is the flagship cabin grade, sleeping two guests with a wraparound veranda delivering 270-degree river views — the most expansive outdoor experience aboard. The Veranda Stateroom A at 19.0 m² also sleeps two, with a full river-view veranda that is well suited to morning coffee or evening relaxation on the water. The French Balcony Stateroom C at 12.5 m² opens to the river through a French balcony, letting in fresh air and light without a full walk-out veranda.

Rhine and Danube itineraries

Current sailings on Viking Honir split equally between the Rhine and the Danube, with four itineraries on each river. Rhine sailings depart from Amsterdam and Basel; Danube sailings depart from Budapest, Regensburg and Bucharest. All sailings run up to seven nights, departing from late September 2026.
