Viking Haki is a brand-new river ship built in 2026 for Viking River Cruises, carrying up to 190 guests in 95 cabins with a crew of 53. At 135 metres in length, she is purpose-built for European river itineraries and sails the Rhine, Danube and Benelux routes. Her key characteristics from the outset include two pool areas — one with a retractable roof — and a Nordic spa. Current sailings available through Cruise1st run up to 14 nights and depart from Amsterdam, Basel and Budapest, from A$5,995pp*.

Cabins on Viking Haki

Viking Haki offers three cabin grades, each designed to make the most of the river scenery outside.

• Standard Stateroom E — at 13.9 m², these outside staterooms sleep two and feature a half-height picture window that frames the river directly from your cabin without needing to step into a public area.
• Veranda Stateroom A — at 19.0 m², these suites sleep two and come with a full private veranda. Direct river access from your own outdoor space makes this the defining upgrade: morning coffee or a sunset drink with unmediated views of the Rhine or Danube.
• Explorer Suite ES — at 41.3 m², the Explorer Suite sleeps two and offers a wraparound veranda with 270-degree views, the most expansive private outdoor space on the ship.

Dining on Viking Haki

Viking Haki's main dining venue, The Restaurant, is included in your cruise fare and serves regional specialities alongside timeless classics through floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping river views. For something more casual, the World Café on Deck 7 Aft features open kitchens with live cooking and international dishes including premium sushi and seafood, with the option to dine out on the Aquavit Terrace® — the ship's signature outdoor dining space positioned directly above the water. For a light lunch or a quick bite poolside, the Pool Grill on Deck 7 offers freshly prepared dishes and a salad bar, all included in your fare.

The Wintergarden on Deck 7 Midship serves complimentary afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones and pastries to the sound of live classical music. Mamsen's®, located inside the Explorers' Lounge on Deck 7, offers Norwegian specialities throughout the day at no extra charge. For speciality dining, Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® brings authentic Italian trattoria cooking and à la carte dining, while The Chef's Table offers a curated multi-course tasting menu with paired wines — both carry a reservation fee. The Kitchen Table on Deck 1 Aft is an interactive culinary experience centred on regional ingredients and local food culture; confirm inclusion at time of booking.

Bars and lounges on Viking Haki

Social life on Viking Haki centres on several distinct spaces, each with its own character. The Living Room is the heart of the ship: generous seating, a calm atmosphere and live classical music from Viking's Resident Musicians make it ideal for unwinding between ports. The adjacent Bar — the Clinker Bar — draws on Nordic longship design and sits within the Living Room atrium.

Torshavn® channels the jazz-lounge atmosphere of Hollywood's golden era with live music and premium spirits. The two-storey Explorers' Lounge, with its panoramic windows, is the place to settle in with a drink and watch the landscape unfold around you. The central Atrium serves as an informal meeting point, while the Pool Bar keeps cocktails and coffee within easy reach of both pool areas. Beverages carry a charge at each venue unless covered by your package.

Entertainment and wellness on Viking Haki

The Theater seats up to 450 guests and screens lectures, films and TED Talks; it can be divided into two HD cinemas depending on the programme, all included in your fare. The Nordic Spa offers complimentary access to the sauna and snow grotto, with individual treatments charged separately, while the Fitness Center provides treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and open space for yoga and pilates. The Sports Deck adds a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard — all included, with some guided classes carrying a separate charge. The Hair Salon is available for styling and the Royal Nordic Hair Ritual, charged separately.

Poolside, the heated Main Pool with Retractable Roof is usable in any weather and screens films on a large poolside screen in the evenings. The Infinity Pool — one of the first of its kind at sea — sits behind floor-to-ceiling windows with a hot tub and teak surround, creating the feeling of floating at the heart of your destination. Both are included in your fare.

Where Viking Haki sails

Viking Haki currently sails three European waterway regions available through Cruise1st. The majority of available sailings explore the Rhine River, departing from Amsterdam and passing through some of the most celebrated riverside scenery in Europe. Danube River itineraries depart from Basel, Switzerland, and from Budapest, Hungary. A Benelux sailing rounds out the current programme.
