Lighter meals are covered by the Pool Grill on Deck 7, a relaxed poolside spot with freshly prepared dishes and a salad bar, and by Mamsen's® in the Explorers' Lounge — an all-day Nordic kitchen honouring the Hagen family matriarch, serving Norwegian specialities at no extra cost. The Wintergarden on Deck 7 Midship hosts a complimentary afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, scones and pastries with classical music alongside.

For something more considered, Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® recreates the feel of an Italian trattoria and operates on a cover-charge basis. The Chef's Table offers a multi-course tasting menu with sommelier-paired wines and requires a reservation, while The Kitchen Table on Deck 1 Aft is an interactive culinary experience built around regional ingredients — confirm inclusion or reservation charges at the time of booking.

Bars, lounges and entertainment

Viking Gymir's social spaces are designed around calm rather than spectacle, which suits the slow, immersive pace of river cruising well.

The Living Room sits at the heart of the ship and is where Viking's Resident Musicians perform live classical music each day — a central draw for guests who want conversation and culture without noise. Alongside it, the Clinker Bar (Bar, Living Room atrium) evokes the lines of ancient longships in its Nordic-inspired design, and beverages carry a separate charge unless covered by your package. Torshavn® brings a jazz-lounge atmosphere with live music and cocktails in the evening, while the Explorers' Lounge wraps two-storey panoramic windows around a relaxed seating area — a grand spot to watch the river slide past.

The Atrium acts as a central meeting point for the ship, and The Theater — with capacity for up to 450 guests — screens lectures, films and TED Talks, and can split into two separate HD cinemas depending on the programme. All are included in your cruise fare.

Wellness and outdoor spaces

The Nordic Spa offers complimentary access to its sauna and snow grotto, with individual treatments and classes available at a separate charge. The Fitness Centre provides treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and free-weight space; equipment use is complimentary, though some classes carry a charge.

On deck, Viking Gymir carries a heated main pool with a retractable roof — meaning it works in any weather — and an infinity pool with a teak surround, floor-to-ceiling windows and an adjacent hot tub. Both pools are included in the fare. The Sports Deck rounds things out with a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard, all included, with some guided activities such as yoga charged separately. A Hair Salon completes the wellness offering for guests wanting a cut or styling appointment during the voyage.

• Explorer Suite (ES) — 41.3 m². The largest accommodation aboard, with a private wraparound veranda delivering 270-degree river views and a separate sitting room.
• Veranda Stateroom (A) — 19.0 m². Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open directly onto a private veranda, giving you fresh air and a river view without entering shared spaces.
• French Balcony Stateroom (C) — 12.5 m². Fully opening glass doors bring the river indoors; the French balcony format is a compact but immersive way to experience the passing destinations.
