Viking Egdir entered service in 2022 and carries up to 190 guests, looked after by a crew of 53. With 95 cabins across a 135-metre hull, the ship offers an intimate ratio of guests to crew that shapes the tone of life on board. Dining on Viking Egdir

The main dining venue is The Restaurant, which is included in your cruise fare and serves regional specialities alongside timeless classics through floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the river as you move through it. For something more casual, the World Café on Deck 7 Aft features open kitchens with live cooking, international dishes, premium sushi and seafood options — with the option to step straight out onto the Aquavit Terrace®, where outdoor dining above the waterline makes the passing riverbank your backdrop.

The Wintergarden on Deck 7 Midship offers complimentary afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and international teas, accompanied by classical music. At the Pool Grill on Deck 7, freshly prepared casual dishes and a salad bar are included in your fare — ideal between swims. Mamsen's®, located within the Explorers' Lounge, serves Norwegian specialities from breakfast through to dinner at no extra cost, honouring the Nordic roots of the line's founding family.

For occasions that call for something special, Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® recreates a trattoria atmosphere with authentic Italian cuisine and a private dining room option — cover charges apply. The Chef's Table offers a multi-course tasting menu with paired wines, by reservation with à la carte pricing. The Kitchen Table on Deck 1 Aft brings an interactive, hands-on culinary experience built around regional ingredients — confirm inclusion status when booking, as pricing varies by setup.

Bars, lounges and entertainment

The social heart of the ship is The Living Room, where generous seating, a calm atmosphere and live classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians create a natural gathering place — entry is included, with beverages charged separately. The Clinker Bar within the Living Room atrium draws on Nordic longship design for a distinctly atmospheric drinks setting.

Torshavn® channels the golden age of Hollywood jazz lounges, with live music and premium cocktails in the evening (beverages charged separately). The Explorers' Lounge offers two-storey panoramic windows and a sense of grand voyage discovery — a quieter spot for a drink and the view. The Atrium provides a central social space where guests naturally drift between activities.

The Theater seats up to 450 and hosts lectures, films and TED Talks on a large screen; it can also be divided into two HD cinemas. Admission is included in your fare, giving you free movement between education and entertainment throughout the voyage.

Pools, spa and activities

Viking Egdir carries two pools: the Main Pool with Retractable Roof, which enables year-round swimming regardless of weather and doubles as an evening film screen under the open sky; and the Infinity Pool, one of the first of its kind, with floor-to-ceiling windows that dissolve the boundary between ship and destination. A hot tub adjoins the Infinity Pool, and the surrounding teak deck connects to the Aquavit Terrace® for evening dining.

Wellness is centred on The Nordic Spa, where access is complimentary — sauna, snow grotto and relaxation spaces are open to all guests, with individual treatments charged separately. The Fitness Centre provides treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and open floor space for yoga and pilates; equipment use is complimentary. The Hair Salon offers styling and the Royal Nordic Hair Ritual at a separate charge. On deck, the Sports Deck includes a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard, all included, with guided classes such as yoga charged separately.

• Explorer Suite (ES) — 41.3 m²: The flagship cabin grade, with a wraparound veranda delivering 270-degree river views. At more than three times the floor area of a standard stateroom, this is the cabin for guests who want panoramic sightlines from the moment they open their eyes.
• Veranda Stateroom (A) — 19.0 m²: A full-size private veranda gives direct access to river views without using shared decks — practical and private in equal measure.
• French Balcony Stateroom (C) — 12.5 m²: Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open to a French balcony, letting in river air and open views without the footprint of a full veranda. A smart choice where space is secondary to the connection with the water.

Current sailings cover three regions. The Rhine is the most represented, with three departures exploring one of Europe's great river corridors.
