Dining on Viking Dagur

Viking Dagur carries six distinct dining venues, from an included main restaurant to speciality tables that carry a cover charge or à la carte pricing.

The Restaurant is the main dining room, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the passing river. It is included in your cruise fare and serves regional specialities alongside timeless classics — an easy base for evening meals as the scenery changes. World Café offers open kitchens with live cooking, premium sushi and international dishes, and spills onto the Aquavit Terrace® for al-fresco dining, both included in your onboard credit.

For something more casual, the Pool Grill on Deck 7 serves freshly prepared dishes and a salad bar poolside, also included in your fare. The Wintergarden on Deck 7 Midship lays on a complimentary afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, fresh scones, pastries and international teas to the accompaniment of classical music. Mamsen's®, tucked inside the Explorers' Lounge on Deck 7, serves Norwegian specialities at breakfast, lunch and dinner at no extra cost.

Two speciality venues carry additional charges. Manfredi's Italian Restaurant® on Aft Deck 1 serves authentic Italian cuisine with à la carte and cover-charge pricing, and offers a private dining room for groups. The Chef's Table, also on Aft Deck 1, presents a multi-course tasting menu with sommelier-paired wines, available by reservation. The Kitchen Table on Deck 1 Aft offers an interactive culinary experience built around regional ingredients — confirm inclusions at the time of booking.

Bars, lounges and entertainment

Viking Dagur's social spaces are built around the idea that a river journey is as much about where you are as where you are going.

The Living Room sits at the heart of the ship with generous seating, live classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians and a calm social atmosphere — entry is free, with beverages charged separately. The Torshavn® lounge evokes the golden age of jazz and offers live music in the evenings; drinks are charged separately unless covered by a beverage package. The Explorers' Lounge features two-storey panoramic windows and draws inspiration from voyages of discovery — a quiet spot to watch the riverbanks go by, beverages charged separately. The Atrium and the Clinker Bar (within the Living Room atrium, with Nordic longship-inspired design) round out the bar options.

The Theater seats up to 450 guests and hosts lectures, films and TED Talks on a large screen; the space can be divided into two HD cinemas and admission is included in your fare. The Sports Deck offers a running track, boccie, mini golf and shuffleboard — use is included, though guided yoga classes carry a separate charge.

Pools and wellness on Viking Dagur

Two pools and a full spa give Viking Dagur a wellness offering well suited to longer Rhine itineraries.

The Main Pool with Retractable Roof is heated and covered in poor weather, making it usable year-round; evening films are shown on a poolside screen. The Infinity Pool — described as one of the first of its kind at sea — has floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the river and is surrounded by teak decking; a hot tub sits alongside, and the Aquavit Terrace® is adjacent for evening dining.

The Nordic Spa is complimentary to enter, with a sauna, snow grotto and fitness facilities; individual treatments and classes carry separate charges. The Fitness Center has treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes and open space for free weights, yoga and pilates — equipment use is complimentary. A Hair Salon offers washing, cutting, blow-drying, styling and the Royal Nordic Hair Ritual, all charged separately.

• Explorer Suite ES (41.3 m²): The most spacious grade on board, with a wraparound veranda offering 270-degree river views — the broadest outdoor perspective available on the ship.
• Veranda Stateroom A (19.0 m²): A private full-size veranda with direct river views, giving you your own outdoor retreat without sharing public deck space.
• French Balcony Stateroom C (12.5 m²): Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open onto a French balcony, bringing fresh air and river views into the cabin without a full veranda.
