Dining on Norwegian Sun

Food is a major part of any cruise holiday, and the Norwegian Sun delivers an impressive mix of casual dining, elegant restaurants and speciality venues designed to suit every mood. Whether you’re after a relaxed breakfast before a shore excursion or a long dinner with ocean views, there’s plenty to enjoy onboard.

The main dining rooms serve a rotating menu of international favourites, fresh seafood and hearty comfort dishes, while the buffet offers flexible dining throughout the day. Guests looking to elevate their evenings can reserve speciality restaurants including Cagney’s Steakhouse, Le Bistro French Restaurant, La Cucina Italian restaurant and the ever-popular Teppanyaki experience.

  • Premium steaks and seafood at Cagney’s Steakhouse
  • Fresh sushi and Asian-inspired dishes at Ginza Sushi
  • Authentic Italian classics at La Cucina
  • Brazilian-style dining at Moderno Churrascaria
  • Relaxed poolside snacks and casual cafes

One of the highlights of sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line Australia Cruises is the freedom to dine when and where you choose. The ship’s Freestyle Cruising concept means there are no rigid dining times, giving Aussie travellers a more flexible and laid-back holiday experience.

Entertainment & Things to Do

Life onboard the Norwegian Sun cruise ship is as lively or as relaxed as you want it to be. Days at sea can be spent unwinding by the Oasis Pool, enjoying a spa treatment or trying your luck at the Sun Club Casino. Evenings come alive with theatre productions, live music and themed parties that keep the energy flowing well into the night.

The Stardust Theatre hosts dazzling stage productions, comedy performances and tribute acts, while the ship’s lounges and bars offer live bands, piano entertainment and cocktails with a view. Guests who enjoy a late night can head to Dazzles Nightclub or join the famous White Hot Party for a fun-filled evening under the lights.

Other onboard highlights include:

  • Body Waves Fitness Centre and Spa
  • Jogging track and sports court
  • Hot tubs and swimming pools
  • Art gallery and onboard shopping
  • Library and observation lounge
  • Golf driving nets
  • Internet café and social lounges

Compared to some larger mega ships, the NCL Norwegian Sun offers a more intimate atmosphere while still providing plenty of entertainment and activities throughout the voyage.

Family-Friendly Cruising

Families travelling aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Sun will find plenty to keep kids and teens entertained. Dedicated youth programs cater to different age groups, allowing younger guests to enjoy games, activities and supervised fun while parents take some time to relax.

The ship’s pool deck is a favourite gathering spot during sea days, while family-friendly dining venues make mealtimes simple and enjoyable. Spacious accommodation options also make it easier for families to travel together comfortably.

For multi-generational holidays, Norwegian Sun strikes a great balance between entertainment, relaxation and destination-focused cruising. Grandparents, parents and children can all enjoy the experience at their own pace.

Destinations Visited by Norwegian Sun

The Norwegian Sun cruise ship sails to an impressive collection of destinations around the world. Depending on the season, itineraries can include Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe, South America and the South Pacific.

Alaska cruises are particularly popular thanks to the ship’s scenic viewing areas and comfortable atmosphere during glacier cruising days. Guests can also explore tropical islands, historic European ports and exotic coastal cities across Asia and South America.

Many itineraries focus on immersive port experiences, making Norwegian Sun an excellent choice for travellers who enjoy discovering new cultures and destinations rather than spending every moment onboard.
