AmaMagna launched in 2019 and was purpose-built as a wide-beam river ship for the Danube. A few things worth knowing before you read further:

Dining on AmaMagna

AmaMagna offers two included dining venues, so there is no cover charge for either dinner setting.

The Main Restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship — an elegant, open-seating space where regional cuisine is served with river views as a backdrop. Open seating means you dine when it suits you and sit with whoever you like, keeping mealtimes relaxed and sociable.

For something more intimate, The Chef's Table seats a smaller group and puts a dedicated chef front and centre: a multi-course tasting menu prepared right before you, with personalised attention throughout. Both venues are included in your fare.

Away from the restaurant, a Specialty Coffee & Tea Station runs on a complimentary self-service basis — useful for an early start before a port excursion or a quiet afternoon pause.

On-deck facilities and activities

The Sun Deck runs the full width of the ship and offers unobstructed views — the natural place to watch the riverbanks scroll past, or to dine al fresco when the weather allows. The Heated Sun-Deck Pool sits up here too, and its integrated swim-up bar means you can order a drink without leaving the water — a feature more commonly found on ocean ships than river vessels.

A Walking Track on the Sun Deck is there for guests who want to keep moving between ports, and the Fitness Centre provides modern cardio and strength-training equipment at no extra charge (specialist fitness classes carry a separate fee).

One of the most practical inclusions is the Complimentary Bicycle Fleet: guests can borrow a bike at no cost and explore ports independently at their own pace, without committing to a guided excursion.

For quieter moments, the Library offers books and games in a relaxed setting, while the Main Lounge is the ship's social centre — cocktails at the bar, evening entertainment and port talks all happen here. The Massage & Hair Salon is available for treatments at an additional charge, and a Gift Shop stocks souvenirs and essentials.

Cabins and suites on AmaMagna

The Owner's Suite (Upper Deck) is the largest cabin on the ship at 66 m², with a private balcony and sleeping space for up to four guests. It is a genuinely suite-scale room by any standard.

The Balcony Suite SA (Violin Deck) measures 33 m² — around 10 m² more than a standard balcony cabin — and also sleeps up to four, making it a practical choice for families or guests who simply want more space without stepping up to the Owner's Suite.

The Outside Cabin D (Lower Deck) at 19 m² is the entry-level category and sits on the lowest deck, which is the most stable position aboard for guests who are sensitive to movement.

Where AmaMagna sails

Every sailing currently on sale follows the Danube, one of Europe's great river corridors, connecting Central European cities, wine valleys and medieval towns. Departures split between Budapest in Hungary and Vilshofen in Germany — two classic Danube gateways at opposite ends of the most popular stretch of the river.

Because every departure requires a flight from Australia, the journey to the ship is part of the planning.
