Valparaíso is a port city on the west coast of Chile. With seemingly endless number of brightly painted houses and charming port it’s easy to see when Valparaíso is a World Heritage City. Take the funicular Ascensor Artilleria train to the top of Cerro Concepcion for a stunning ocean view. For those looking to take to take it easy, a number of vineyards are found near the town where world-famous Chilean wine is produced.

Niebla, sometimes called Valdivia, lies on the Valdivia River which flows into the Pacific here. The city has 150,000 inhabitants. Visit the remains of the Spanish fortress from the 17th and 18 Century. Find out the history of German immigrants in the local museum, or stroll through the fish market.

Castro is the capital of the country's second largest island of Chiloe, and is situated in the Región de Los Lagos. Castro is known for the stilt houses of the fishermen, which are found directly on the coast. The city has a mild climate with high humidity.
