Costa Smeralda is the new flagship of Costa Cruises and the largest cruise ship in the fleet. The unique ship is a tribute to splendid holiday resorts and a symbol of Sardinia. In fact, Costa Smeralda will be one of the first 100% green ships in the world, being completely powered by liquefied natural gas, the cleanest fossil fuel in the world.
With her sleek lines and impressive size, Costa Smeralda will amaze you instantly. Once on board the cruise ship, you will be overwhelmed by the extraordinary design of her eleven passenger decks. Famous interior designer Adam D. Tihany designed the decks in collaboration with the Dordoni studio in Milan. The designs were inspired by the most beautiful Italian cities, including Palermo, Rome, Venice, Milan, and Capri. Each cabin will look like a work of art with photographic panels on the walls and elements reminiscent of the city that inspired each deck.
Costa Smeralda offers cruises in the Mediterranean with departures from Savona, Cagliari, and Palermo. Starting in 2021, she will also sail from the Emirates.
The heart of the ship is the “Colosseo”, nurturing a magical atmosphere over three decks thanks to LED screens. You can also enjoy the view from the Spanish Steps, which mirror the waves of the sea.
Visit the Solemio Spa for special treatments that will take you on a journey of well-being and relaxation. In the spa, Italian tradition meets modernity, giving passengers a unique wellness experience. Enter the salt room and experience the benefits salt can have on your skin, your breathing, and your quality of sleep. After the classic sauna, step into the snow room at a chilly -10°C. The cold will regenerate your health and metabolism, strengthen your immune system, and improve your circulation. Special “Italian-style” treatments, like the massage with rosemary and thyme or the limoncello scrub, can’t be missed.
Costa Smeralda boasts a wide selection of shops and boutiques, where you will satisfy your greatest desires: perfumes, clothing, and jewellery.
Costa Smeralda’s 16 restaurants will take you on an unforgettable culinary journey with their delicious dishes. On board the ship, you will also find homemade gelato, in addition to classic Italian dishes. The 19 bars will provide passengers with a unique experience.
