P&O Cruises has announced a new partnership with popular jewellery chain, PANDORA, in a move that will see the cruise line host five PANDORA outlets across its fleet.

The partnership will give thousands of Australian holidaymakers the opportunity to purchase PANDORA jewellery pieces at duty-free prices whilst at sea.

PANDORA specialise in contemporary jewellery, including their now world-famous collectible charms. Australia is one of the jewellery firm’s largest markets, and it’s hoped the new expansion will capture a whole new market.

P&O’s Pacific Jewel will be the first to receive a PANDORA outlet when the first store opens aboard in June, with subsequent shops opening across the P&O fleet over the coming months.

Steve Myrmell, P&O Cruises Senior Vice President, said: “PANDORA is a brand that’s known and loved around the world and we think it will be a huge hit with our guests who’ll love the chance to buy the jewellery as a gift or a keepsake during their holiday.”

“Our ships will be the only locations outside airports to sell PANDORA at duty-free prices, so this is quite a coup for us.”

Myrmell went on to add that the cruise line expects PANDORA’s unique charms to be the most sought after gift purchased by holidaymakers aboard P&O vessels.

Julian Mullins, PANDORA VP of Travel Retail, added: “Just like P&O Cruises, PANDORA offers affordable luxury and we think our new stores at sea will be incredibly popular with the cruise line’s guests.”

P&O Cruises hope the partnership will kick-start a new era for cruising, as the cruise line looks to redefine the Australian cruise market with its dedicated five ship fleet.
