Cruise Line
 23rd November 2008
 1033 feet
Total Crew

The flagship of the Celebrity fleet, Solstice epitomises all that is good about Celebrity cruises. Launched in 2008, this 122,000 tonne, 1,033 foot long ship is able to transport up to 2,850 passengers at any one time. Setting the standard for other Celebrity liners, Solstice is partially powered by 216 solar panels.

Celebrity Solstice Recreation

Arguably the stand out feature of the Solstice is her incredible Lawn Club, situated on the highest deck. Featuring perfectly tended lawns, this country-club style corner features bocce courts, a putting green and plenty of green space where you can while away a relaxing afternoon. Other attractions for those looking to spend a quieter, more sedate day at sea include the Solstice theatre, library, art gallery and card room.

The Solstice fitness centre makes working out accessible and fun, whether you wish to train alone or make use of one of the ship’s personal trainers. The AquaSpa offers all the pampering you could wish for, as well as swimming pools for both families and adults only. Celebrity Solstice offers a selection of bars and lounges, from lively dance venues to more restful watering holes where you can simply relax and enjoy a drink. Other leisure activities include the on board casino or the fabulous range of wines on offer in the Solstice wine bar.

Celebrity Solstice Food

With a choice of ten restaurants, including four unique speciality restaurants, Solstice passengers have no shortage of delicious food available in a variety of picturesque settings. Casual dining is available at the buffet service at Oceanview Cafe, the steaks and burgers of Mast Grill and Bar, AquaSpa Cafe, and the delightful Bistro on Five. The main dining room, Grand Epernay Restaurant, offers breathtaking views of the ocean through its glass exterior while you enjoy gourmet cuisine and the impeccable service of Celebrity’s waiting staff. For something a bit special, for an added fee passengers can make reservations at the Asian fusion heaven of the Silk Harvest Restaurant, the fine dining offered by Murano, or the Italian favourites served up at the Tuscan Grille. Blu Restaurant is an exclusive dining option for AquaClass passengers and those staying in suites.

Celebrity Solstice Staterooms

Solstice has once again led the way as far as Celebrity cruising is concerned, with the introduction of several technological advancements in the ship’s staterooms, all of which feature a 32-inch flat screen LCD television. As a result of a partnership between Celebrity and Apple computers, Celebrity Solstice features Mac mini-computers in each cabin, complete with interactive features and in-room programming. Every room contains a queen-size bed, safe, mini-bar and private bathroom complete with separate shower. Eighty-five per cent of Solstice’s staterooms feature a private terrace for guests to enjoy. Two palatial Penthouse Suites and forty-four grand Sky Suites are found at the top tier of Solstice’s accommodation. Elsewhere, 130 AquaClass rooms offer extra perks and in-room amenities, along with access to the exclusive Blu Restaurant.
