Princess Cruises has claimed a record five awards in the recent Cruise Passenger Readers Awards, including accolades for Best Ocean Cruise Line, Best Premium Cruise Line, Best Cruise Line for Food, Best for Wellness/Spa and Best for Onboard Entertainment.
Of the seven categories Princess were permitted to enter as part of the awards application process, the cruise line claimed five — an achievement never previously matched by a rival cruise operator.
Cruise Passenger Magazine is the number one cruise publication in Australia; first established in 1996 to help cruise fans keep abreast of the latest news from the world of cruising. Each year they host a star-studded awards ceremony, with each winner being chosen exclusively by Cruise Passenger readers. The event attracts representatives from some of the biggest cruise lines in operation down under, including P&O, Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line.
Stuart Allison, vice president of Princess Cruises’ Australia and New Zealand division, enthused: “This is a fantastic result which demonstrates our commitment to helping our guests ‘come back new’ through our onboard dining, wellness and entertainment experiences across our fleet.
“Since we first based a ship in Australia in 2002 we have tailored our product to local cruisers, from the entertainment to the onboard $A currency, so we’re very excited by these multiple award wins which endorse our approach.
“It’s great to see that we are clearly ticking the boxes in so many areas, particularly given our latest innovations such as our culinary partnership with chef Curtis Stone and partnership with Discovery International, offering interactive onboard programs and exclusive shore excursions.”
