If you love the ABC show, Dancing with the Stars, then you will have this upcoming cruise on the Holland America Line.
On January 5, 2014 and January 12th, 2014, the cruise liner ms Nieuw Amsterdam sets sail with some pretty talented people on board, including Emmy® award-winning choreographer and dance professional, Dancer Derek Hough, as well as singer, Joey Fatone; television personality, Carson Kressley; and dance pros, Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater. Other professional dancers onboard include Tristan MacManus and Kym Johnson as well as actress Sabrina Bryan.
Derek Hough received his first Emmy® for his choreography work on Dancing with the Stars at the last Emmy awards show held September 22 in Hollywood, California. He is also a five time winner on Dancing with the Stars, including being named champion on Season 17 that just ended in November with celebrity partner, Amber Riley.
Besides enjoying the talent onboard, you can also compete in the Dancing with the Stars: At Sea competition AND the highest scorer from the each different cruise ship will have the opportunity to perform as a finalist on the Champions Cruise during December 2014. Here, 15 finalists will dance to win a trophy and the “Grand Champion” title. Wow!
Additionally, on every cruise, guests will have the opportunity to learn dance routines – either pick up the basics or learn a few new steps!
Other special entertainment includes performances and routines from the dance pros and celebrities in the main show lounge, a special fashion show with many of the show costumes, and opportunities for meet and greets and photos with the celebrities and dance pros.
Holland America Line already hosted four “Dancing with the Stars: At Sea” theme cruises in 2013 all of which were a huge success. There are 15 winning guests from dance competitions on other ships and their professional shipboard dance partners will perform on the January 12th cruise in the main show lounge for guests and the “Dancing with the Stars” talent. The winning couple will be awarded with the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy and title of Holland America Line’s “Dancing with the Stars: At Sea” Champion.
The January 5th Dancing with the Stars cruise will sail to the eastern Caribbean. The itinerary includes Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos; San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and the line’s award-winning private island, Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. The January 12th Champions cruise will travel through the western Caribbean. The itinerary includes Half Moon Cay, Bahamas; George Town, Grand Cayman, and Key West, Florida.
