Cruising is synonymous with luxury and extravagance, however step on-board the Norwegian Pearl from January 15 – 18 2016 and the vibe will be utterly terrifying. Over 2300 passengers will be decked out in their finest zombie gear and shuffling around the decks like they’ve lost their souls.
Nope, it’s not the set of a bone chilling, post-apocalyptic Hollywood feature film. It’s the result of a playful partnership between at-sea festivals marketer Sixthman, Walker Stalker Con and Norwegian Cruise Line. Or as they like to call it, the ‘Walker Stalker’ cruise. The cruise is inspired by hit AMC TV show The Walking Dead and will see the entire ship transformed into a spooky playground for its zombie obsessed fans.
“Calling all fans of Skybound’s The Walking Dead! Where’s the best place to be when a zombie apocalypse breaks loose? At sea of course, on a cruise hosted by The Walker Stalkers along with the stars and creative minds behind your favorite television and comic book series! Now picture yourself surrounded by like-minded fans (or should we say, survivors?) on a three-day escape at sea as we sail from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas, January 15-18, 2016 aboard Norwegian Pearl,” reads the official event website.
Bahamas bound zombies
The cruise will set sail from Miami on January 15, bound for Nassau in the Bahamas. Whoever said zombies hate the sunlight? For three days passengers will enjoy the chance to get up close and personal with actors and actresses from the hit show, attend exclusive Q&A sessions, snap up photo/autograph opportunities, take part in costume contests, dance the night away at themed parties, sign up for zombie make-up experiences and more!
Already the cruise has attracted a handful of A-list guests, including Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Emily Kinney, Sonequa Martin-Green, Chad L. Coleman, Christian Serratos, Lawrence Gilliard Jr. and Ross Marquand. Watch this space as more celebrities could sign up in the future.
