Holland America Line will roll out ‘B.B. King’s Blues Club’ to four more ships

Take a Soulful Cruise with Holland America Line and its B.B. King’s Blues Club Experience

Have you ever been at a club and thought, this would be perfect to take on a holiday? Well, if you imagined that when sitting in one of the many B.B. King’s Blues Clubs around the U.S., then you can now enjoy the same experience on the high seas thanks to Holland America Line, one of the leading cruise lines of the world focused on creating incredible and memorable cruise experiences as part of the Carnival Corporation cruise company family.

Earlier this year, the B.B. King’s Blues Club Experience was introduced on the ms Eurodam and it has become one of the most highly rated entertainment offerings across the cruise ship company’s 15 ships. The band plays to a packed house every night in the Lounge as well as one night a week on the ship’s main stage in the Show Lounge.  Both Holland America Line and the B.B. King’s Blues Club are excited by the reception from cruise ship guests and the recent expansion of the musical experience.

In 2014, you will be able to enjoy this eight-piece band, consisting of two vocalists, drummer, bassist, guitarist, sax player, trumpeter and organist, on five ships, including its initial home on the Eurodam. The other ships include the ms Noordam, ms Nieuw Amsterdam, ms Westerdam and ms Zuiderdam. They will be introduced to the various ships, starting this December and throughout 2014 with many open-ended runs, depending on the ship, to make sure as many of Holland American Line’s guests can enjoy this exceptional, engaging entertainment.

The premise of the nightly entertainment is based on the same successful formula of its clubs and the musical mastery of its namesake, B.B. King. The Queen’s Lounge on each ship is getting a makeover to emulate the clubs, including new décor and cocktail menu. This includes pictures of the Memphis blues legend, B.B. King, a new stage to resemble a Memphis nightclub, and numerous hanging guitars around the lounge.

Then, there are the drinks, which will include delicious concoctions straight from the original clubs. These tasty specialty drinks include the rum-based Lucille and the Rock Me Baby with a mix of fruit liqueurs and juices.
