Last Sunday we were privileged to be invited for walk around and lunch aboard Princess Cruises 77,499 gross tonne Sea Princess. She is the 3rd of four sister ships, being Sun Princess, Dawn Princess and Oceana currently serving with sister company P&O Cruises UK. I have sailed on this class of ship before so it was a lovely feeling of familiarity as I stepped into her sparkling multi level atrium.
This class of ship continues to hold their own in style over a decade after their introduction, their layout continuing to influence later ships. They are easy to navigate and have loads of lovely spaces to be part of the action or really get away from it all. We inspected all cabin grades from top to bottom and virtually every public area reconfirming why so many passengers remain firmly loyal.
The adults only oasis deck is particularly lovely, and I personally love the Wheelhouse Bar with its P&O paintings and memorabilia.
Lunch in the dining room was just as you’d expect with attentive service and superb food. I highly recommend the Lemon Soufle!
Check our website regularly for specials with Princess Cruises. There are some outstanding rates for all 3 locally based ships, and for those with a little more time the Dawn Princess Grand Pacific cruise is a fabulous choice.
