Popular DreamWorks Experience launches onboard Mariner of the Seas.
DreamWorks is one of the most recognisable names in the film industry and for years it has been creating amazing animated films that have consistently been a hit with children and adults. As the winner of numerous awards, films like the smash-hit Shrek franchise have become household names. So, it’s not too much of a surprise that Royal Caribbean have had a partnership with DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. since 2010 to bring high-quality entertainment to their fleet. The DreamWorks Experience launched onboard Allure of the Seas back in November 2010 and has proved to be an extremely popular activity on the ship. As such, Royal Caribbean has recently announced a further expansion of The DreamWorks Experience. This will be the sixth ship to host the activity, onboard Mariner of the Seas.
About The DreamWorks Experience
What makes The DreamWorks Experience so popular with kids is that they get to see their favourite film characters for real! Whether your child is a fan of Shrek or Kung Fu Panda, they’re sure to have a fantastic time. There is a range of activities which are based on popular DreamWorks animation films. Your children can meet the characters and have their photo taken so they will never forget the day. There is a special breakfast for everyone to get to know each other held in the main dining room. Adults aren’t excluded either. As DreamWorks films are popular with young and old, adults can enjoy their films in every stateroom on a dedicated channel. There is also an amazing 3D movie theater on each ship that plays recent DreamWorks films, such as Madagascar 3, making this a great activity for any family!
“Royal Caribbean is the only cruise line to offer the DreamWorks Experience to vacationers throughout the world and we are delighted to expand our partnership with DreamWorks…The DreamWorks Experience really resonates with our guests since we launched it aboard Allure of the Seas. We worked with DreamWorks Animation to create an incomparable entertainment experience for our guests, no matter what their age, and their feedback has been nothing short of stellar.”
— Lisa Bauer, executive vice president of Global Sales and Marketing, Royal Caribbean International.
Following its first successes on Allure of the Seas in 2010, The DreamWorks Experience was first expanded to the Oasis of the Seas, which sails from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, and also on Freedom of the Seas, which sails from Port Canaveral on Florida’s Space Coast. Liberty of the Seas also has the DreamWorks activity, and the ship spends its time in both Barcelona and Port Everglades. The most recent cruise ship to have The DreamWorks Experience is Voyager of the Seas, which sails to the Australia, New Zealand and the Far East.
“Royal Caribbean continues to be the perfect host for the DreamWorks Experience and this expansion agreement ensures that more and more fans will have the opportunity to interact with our characters and properties.”
— Kerry Phelan, Head of Worldwide Licensing for DreamWorks Animation.
