Pacific Pearl cruise ship guide

For trips around the Australian coast and its beautiful surrounding islands, Pacific Pearl is hard to beat. Boasting 11 immaculately presented decks and a huge range of things to keep you entertained, you’ll be sure to enjoy your time on board.

You can take a look our Pacific Pearl trips for 2013 and 2014 here.

Some history

Built in 1988 by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, Pacific Pearl started out under the name of FairMajesty. However, she never sailed under that name, and was soon bought by Princess Cruises to operate under the name of Star Princess. She is now the latest addition to the current P&O Fleet.

She has sailed routes in and around a number of locations across the globe, including the UK, Barbados, Spain, Egypt, Asia and now Australia.

Activities and facilities on Pacific Pearl

There’s a definite emphasis on fun on board Pacific Pearl – but that’s not to say you won’t have time to relax. The top deck features an impressive giant LED screen and outdoor circus arena, where you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping acrobatics shows. Then there’s The Dome: a huge entertainment centre featuring bars, pubs and a theatre.

But if you just feel like winding down, you’ll enjoy the choice of two spas and two swimming pools, the library, or perhaps The Oasis, an adults-only retreat. And if you’re in the mood for a laugh, try the adults-only Sit Down Comedy Club.

When it comes to dining, you’ll also be spoilt for choice. From the relatively laid-back Waterfront Restaurant and The Grill, to the fine cuisine on offer at celebrity chef Luke Mangan’s Salt grill, there really is something for every taste.
