Is all inclusive cruises coming to Royal Caribbean ships:
For holidaymakers onboard Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas, two of the largest cruise ships in the world, possible changes to drinking packages should make cruises even more enjoyable for customers in the future. For most people a relaxing holiday involves lying back in the sun and drinking a delicious alcoholic beverage – for many something delicious like a luxury cocktail. And so, as Royal Caribbean is currently considering whether to introduce all-inclusive alcohol packages there is even more to look forward to on your future cruise.
Royal Caribbean has been testing all inclusive cruises by offering alcohol packages on a few of its ships since 2011. During that year all-inclusive alcohol packages were trialled on three of its ships based outside of the United States.
If Royal Caribbean were to roll out these new alcohol packages this would bring it alongside its sister-line Celebrity Cruises, which has had alcohol packages since 2010. Other well-known cruise lines already offer alcohol packages, notably Carnival and Norwegian, so there is nothing unusual about onboard all-inclusive drinking.
But at this stage, Royal Caribbean are unsure where these packages will be launched:
“We do not have final details on which ships would receive the packages at this time or what those packages would look like”

There are obvious advantages to having all-inclusive packages on Royal Caribbean. Many passengers choose a cruise in the first place because they can be all-inclusive, so adding alcohol in to the mix will add to the general ease of the cruise experience. You won’t have to think about having money with you all the time to pay for a drink and can more easily relax. But then again, all-inclusive alcohol packages can be expensive. If you have to pay a daily rate for the package the costs can add up. For some, this isn’t a problem, especially for those who like to indulge while they’re away. But for those who do not drink a great amount of alcohol, then perhaps an all-inclusive package isn’t right for them. Of course, much of this depends on the demographic. All-inclusive alcohol packages are certainly going to be more popular with the younger generation than the older. If Royal wants to roll out these drinks packages, then they’ll need to carefully consider demographics too.
So, we’ll have to wait to see what Royal Caribbean decide, but evidently there are attractions to all-inclusive alcohol packages on a cruise and many passengers will hope these are introduced.
