More details about Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Quantum of the Seas, have just been announced:
The details of this new ship are hotly anticipated in the cruise world, and from this first glance it is not going to disappoint! Indeed, Royal Caribbean has emphasised that Quantum of the Seas will included numerous ‘firsts at sea’. This will include great activities such as onboard bumper car rides and a Ripcord iFly vertical wind tunnel skydiving activity – It’s hard to believe that these activities could be incorporated on a cruise ship! Indeed, the ship will also boast a huge sport area, the Seaplex, and will also have a large capsule mounted on an articulated arm attached to the ship which will provide amazing views of the ocean. This last activity is similar to the London Eye in Britain, which allows for unforgettable panoramic views!
What’s more, the ship will house TWO70, a multipurpose venue that will see different events both day and night, including amazing acrobatic performances! For those who love live music, ‘The Music Hall’ will certainly be worthy of a visit, as it will host sublime musical entertainment throughout the length of the ship’s cruise.
According to the information released by Royal Caribbean, Quantum of the Seas will also house some of the most popular innovations seen on some of the line’s other ships. This includes the very popular partnership with Dreamworks and the exciting Flowrider surfing experience.
These fantastic details and much more were announced at a media conference given by Royal Caribbean CEO Richard Fain and Adam Goldstein, the RCI President, in New York. Kristen Chenoweth, the Broadway star and godmother of Quantum of the Seas, was also in attendance.
During the media conference, Richard Fain noted that the new features onboard Quantum of the Seas represents a “quantum leap forward in stateroom design”. Indeed, passengers will experience additional comforts, with cabins that are 9 percent bigger than the average on Oasis of the Seas. The cabins will have additional storage space, USB outlets, and amazing so-called ‘virtual balconies’ to enhance passenger views. In general, cabins have been designed to create a “more residential atmosphere”.
Richard Fain added that “the sum of the parts is spectacular,” adding that Quantum is “a measurable step forward in the cruise experience”.
And finally, it’s not just Quantum of the Seas which will have these new revolutionary design features. Sister ship Anthem of the Seas, which will launch the following year in 2015, will also house all these amazing features.
