Just weeks after it unveiled its exciting new plans to launch a 2016 river sailing programme, Disney has announced additional voyages to cater for overwhelming demand. Looks like the world is definitely ready for Europe’s rivers to be tapped with a touch of Disney magic!

As well as the original quintet of Danube cruises from July to December, the line has added an additional duo of sailings scheduled for August and December. Together, Disney and AmaWaterways will run the seven-night trips which whisk passengers away on an enchanting journey to some of Europe’s most beautiful destinations. Voyages begin in the Hungarian city of Budapest, with the vessels arriving in the German town of Vilshofen a week later.

A focus on family-friendly cruising

In classic Disney style, the cruises are all ingrained with a family-friendly theme that will have kids and adults alike utterly enamoured. On-board passengers will find a range of activities for all ages, while shore excursions are tailor-made to please mums, dads, teens and toddlers alike. Think to explore the famous Danube Christmas markets, enjoying a private show at Vienna’s Spanish Riding School, a VIP tour of Austria’s Schlosshof Palace and more. All cruises will be serviced by a brand new AmaWaterways vessel that has been custom designed and built for family cruising. One of the most unique features is the family-sized cabin configurations, with berths capable of comfortably accommodating up to five people. Definitely not something you see on every cruise ship!

Want to experience the delights of a Disney river cruise for yourself? You’d better get in quick as cabins are selling out fast and not even Cinderella’s fairy godmother herself can conjure up more cruises once they’re sold out! At present, current cruises are scheduled for July 7, 14, 21 and 28, August 4 and Dec 15 and 22, 2016.
