There are so many reasons to make Copenhagen a destination on your cruise, we can hardly fit them in (but we’ll do our best!). In a nutshell, it’s renowned as one of the friendliest, cleanest and most welcoming cities in the world.
In the meantime, read on to find out more about this stunning city.
Denmark’s capital city Copenhagen is a fine example of how a city should be run: it’s clean, green and welcoming to all. That comes at a price – living here isn’t cheap – but nonetheless it’s a great place to visit at any time of year.
A third of Copenhagen’s residents take a bike to work or school, so the city is quieter than many other European capitals. And the public transport here is excellent, so you’ll find it easy to get around the city. A metro or train from the airport to the city centre takes just 20 minutes.
And there is something to keep everyone entertained in this modern city. Culture fans will be delighted by the museums, royal castles and various historical buildings. Meanwhile shopping fans can take advantage of the excellent shopping centres, many of which feature high-end designer brands.
The cuisine is great too – Copenhagen is home to several world-renowned restaurants, including Noma and 12 other Michelin-starred venues.
Visitors to Copenhagen often remark on just how clean and tidy the place is. The Government puts a strong focus on cleanliness and it really shows. During the warmer months you can even swim in the harbour. Meanwhile a canal tour through the city is one of the best ways to explore.
Cruise lines currently offering trips to Copenhagen include MSC and Norwegian Cruise Line.
