Celebrity Cruises has some fantastic news for food connoisseurs, as the line is bringing back its popular ‘Excite the Senses’ cruises for 2013!
These amazing cruise holidays are great for anyone who enjoys fantastic food, as they bring a wide range of taste experiences and flavours to those who value quality cuisine.
With the addition of informative demonstrations put on by professional chefs, you’ll learn a new and exciting skill too! It’s not only the food that makes these holidays special either. High-quality drinks accompany all the food experiences, as passengers relax in the beautiful restaurant and lounge settings.
As you can see, Celebrity’s Excite the Senses cruises cannot be missed! The company have a long relationship with successful food projects. They were the first cruise line to establish pop-up restaurants on land and to cook in the James Beard House in New York. In reprising the Excite the Senses cruises, Celebrity Cruises’ reputation for providing great food has been enhanced even further.
“The Excite the Senses cruises expand our everyday emphasis on the enjoyment and exploration of fine food and drink into a full-on immersion…Guests who love to be in-the-know with the hottest food trends, to master certain cooking techniques, to understand how foods balance with each other and with wine or beer, come away from these cruises with a deep sense of satisfaction and a heightened appreciation for the artistry of cooking, entertaining, and eating.”
— Scott Steenrod , Vice President, Food and Beverage Operations, Celebrity Cruises.
During 2013 there will be four Excite the Senses cruises, with the first beginning on 9 March 2013. This will be a voyage around the Eastern Caribbean for 7 nights onboard the luxury cruise ship, Celebrity Reflection. This ship can hold over three thousand passengers and will make a roundtrip from Miami. The chefs James Beard and John Suley will be onboard to make sure that passengers enjoy an amazing culinary experience and have their taste buds truly excited!
Passengers onboard these cruises will also be able to experience dishes taken directly from the James Beard Menu and from Celebrity Cruises’ pop-up restaurant in New York. The fantastic cookery demonstrations will be presented by chefs such as W. Thomas Szymanski, the corporate executive chef, and will take place in locations such as the ship’s spacious main theatre. Similarly, the South African chef, Steve Van Der Merwe, will host a cookery demonstration on the top deck inside the Lawn Club Grill, and Rufino Rengifo will also be holding demonstrations. Renfigo has also created a fantastic bespoke dinner menu for the Tuscan Grille!
And, of course, delicious food is nothing without accompanying drinks! Luckily, the famed mixologist Junior Merino (who is nicknamed The Liquid Chef) will also be onboard and sharing his unique cocktail knowledge. Merino already has a solid relationship with Celebrity Cruises having created their popular Molecular Bar. Passengers will be able to visit the bar and learn how to make fantastic drinks like a professional cocktail barman. But if wine is more your thing, Luis Reyneri will be on hand to share his voluminous wine knowledge and will be holding informative workshops and tastings onboard.
