Bookings for Quantum of the Seas opened May 28th 2013

Those wishing to experience the holiday of a lifetime onboard one of the industry’s newest, exciting and most innovative cruise ships will be pleased to hear that bookings for Quantum of the Seas opened on the 28th, exclusively for Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program subscribers.  Bookings open to the general public from June 4th 2013.

Quantum of the Seas is the new addition to the Royal Caribbean family, marking the first ship in the company’s new “Quantum Class” section of the fleet.  The ship promises a host of thrilling features, which holidaymakers are sure to enjoy.  In fact, Royal Caribbean are so adamant that passengers will love the new ship, that they’ve put it on record,  saying that holidaymakers will be “hard pressed” to find another experience that delivers the “WOWs” like Quantum of the Seas.

What passengers can expect onboard Quantum:

There are a number of new “first-time at sea” features hitting the decks of Quantum (such as the fun bumper car rides) and a few old classics returning that everyone loves (such as the FlowRider Surf Simulator).

Here’s a look at some of the new and innovative features we will see onboard Quantum:

  • Two70°, a venue space that offers interactive experiences, housed in three decks of floor-to-ceiling glass, where guests can take in 270° panoramic views of the sea.  There’ll also be a cafe in the venue, offering gourmet casual dining options.
  • Seaplex, billed as the largest indoor activity space at sea.  It features a full-size regulation basketball court, and a world first:  a flying trapeze at sea!  Also featuring themed activity rooms and a ‘food truck’ serving snacks (another world first at sea!)
  • North Star, a transparent pod offering guests the chance to enjoy 350-degree views 300 meters above sea level and over the side of the ship.
  • State Rooms that are 9% larger (on average) than those on the Oasis Class ships and featuring modern touches in rooms, such as USB outlets.

Speaking about the new ship, Royal Caribbean International’s president and CEO Adam Goldstein, said:

“Royal Caribbean is proud to partner with some of the Caribbean’s premier destinations for the inaugural season of Quantum of the Seas.”

“The Quantum class of ships will combine a new set of truly exciting and first-at-sea innovations that can only be found on Royal Caribbean, with some of the most incredible destinations in the region.”

“We can’t wait to WOW vacationers with the new Quantum class.”

Quantum of the Seas will make its inaugural sailing, and subsequent roundtrip voyages from Cape Liberty (NJ, USA).  She will sail seven- to 12-night itineraries to destinations in the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
