Every year, cruise lines battle it out to score to top honours at a host of industry awards that recognise high performers. In 2016, Royal Caribbean has a LOT to celebrate, having secured a double win at the 2016 AFTA National Travel Industry Awards. Recognising excellence across all major niche travel verticals, the awards wound up with a spectacular Gala Dinner at the Pavilion Darling Harbour. Think major giveaways, VIP guest appearances and of course, plenty of bubbly.
One cruise line, two coveted awards
It marks a historic first for the line, as it’s the first time it’s taken home both the Best Cruise Operator (International) award, as well as the Best Cruise Operator (Domestic) award. While it’s the first time the line has scooped both top honours, Royal Caribbean is no stranger to the long-running AFTA National Travel Industry Awards. Since 2005, the line’s been the proud recipient of Best Cruise Operator no less than five times.
Adam Armstrong, Royal Caribbean’s managing director in Australia and New Zealand was thrilled with the outcome, commenting “These awards are significant because they demonstrate recognition from the travel industry… It’s a great honour to be recognised and solidifies our commitment to delivering our style of innovative and international holidays at sea. We are truly grateful to the industry for their ongoing support.”
A favourite with agents, and holidaymakers
As well as winning over travel agents across Australia, Royal Caribbean is on the mark when it comes to blowing its passengers away with incredible at-sea experiences. From amazingly attentive on-board assistance to a unique line-up of shore excursions, the line is committed to offering its guests world-class Gold Anchor Service.
And with next generation ships like Harmony of the Seas fronting the fleet, Royal Caribbean blows the competition out the water. From the 12,000 lush, green trees and plants peppering Central Park and the lively atmosphere of the Royal Promenade to the thrills of the Pool/Sports decks and the laughs of the Youth zone, the ship’s sprawling seven neighbourhoods offer passengers endless adventure…
Cheers to that!
Congratulations Royal Caribbean, and to all other nominees and award winners!
