Princess Cruises has launched a brand new at sea restaurant in partnership with one of Australia’s most beloved celebrity chefs, Curtis Stone.
The restaurant, branded SHARE by Curtis Stone, will debut on Ruby Princess and Emerald Princess from December 2015. Passengers travelling on either of these Princess vessels after this date can enjoy a fantastic menu of imaginative dishes that place emphasis on the shared, communal experience of eating in a restaurant – with a number of specialist sharing platters and smaller dishes served individually.
Earlier this year, Princess announced its exclusive partnership with Stone, in a move set out to elevate the passenger experience across the line’s fleet. Stone designed a specialist menu exclusively available to Princess passengers that was labelled “Crafted by Curtis”, and it was the success of this menu that spurred Princess to open an independent at sea restaurant dedicated to the chef’s culinary offering.
Typified by its communal dining tables and family-style gastronomic offering, SHARE was designed by Stone in partnership with celebrated hospitality designer, Jeffrey Beers, and is said to reflect the chef’s fond childhood memories of mealtimes spent with family as well as wider community.
When asked to explain the concept behind SHARE, Stone said: “It’s only natural that my first restaurant at sea is named SHARE, as sharing food family-style with family and good friends is the most enjoyable way to eat.
“I love the process of passing plates amongst each other and creating meaningful connections through the food and conversation. I’ve worked feverishly to create elegant, tasty dishes that I’m really proud to serve in a beautiful and relaxed environment, and I’m excited that SHARE is set to become a special part of people’s holiday memories and experience at sea.”
Among the delicious dishes available on SHARE’s extensive menu are a Charcuterie Entrée; Twice Cooked Duck Leg with Bacon Jus and Parmesan Crumb; Tagliatelle with Roasted Alaskan Crab, Chilli and Parsley; and a scrumptious Burnt Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
Jan Schwartz, President of Princess Cruises, said of Stone’s latest at sea restaurant: “We’re honoured that Princess Cruises is the home of Curtis Stone’s first restaurant at sea. We know our guests will enjoy the menu Chef Stone has created for SHARE and we’re sure they will also feel right at home dining in his new restaurant, just like we hope they always feel on a Princess cruise vacation. SHARE is an exciting new enhancement adding to our guest experience intended to fulfill our ‘come back new’ brand promise.”
Whilst passengers will have to wait until December 2015 to sample the delicious food served in Stone’s new restaurant, you can find more information on the restaurant – including a fabulous photo gallery – here.
