Norwegian Cruise Line is building their latest vessel as an addition to the Miami fleet. This Norwegian luxury cruise ship is better known as the Norwegian Escape.
Construction on the ship is slated to finish in October 2015. Shortly after, the Escape will set sail from Miami in November 2015 for its first week-long meander around the East Caribbean Islands.
The cruise line is a luxurious dream. While other Norwegian cruises are limited to 3-4 nights, this cruise offers a full week in paradise. Tortola, the British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, the US Virgin Islands, Nassau, and the Bahamas are the primary destinations on this Caribbean cruise. Passengers can enjoy clear blue waters and white sand beaches, all while getting a taste for the buoyant Caribbean culture.
Both the inside and outside of the ship have been designed with perfection. Norwegian Cruise Line recently released the digital designs of its onboard luxury cabins and suites. Each artistic rendering suggests a spacious yet minimalist interior design. The colour schemes echo the theme of the trip — total relaxation. The walls are painted in modern whites and off-whites. They are offset by relaxing, cool hues like sea blue, violet, and aquamarine. These luxurious renderings can be viewed at the online gallery.
On the hull itself, artistic designs include a variety of marine life. The length of the ship is covered with turtles, birds, and whale sharks to complement wildlife sightings along the journey. The stern depicts coral reefs and reef fish, while the hull features a giant sailfish. The acclaimed conservationist and accredited designer of the Norwegian Escape’s fanciful hull art is Guy Harvey.
Harvey also intends to use his conservationist background to maintain the pristine nature of the Caribbean. He and Norwegian are partners for the Caribbean Challenge Initiative program. The program will help educate passengers about conservation through onboard documentaries.
The Escape has many exciting, new features, including Norwegian’s signature luxury area, The Haven. This exclusive area offers private dining, lounges, courtyards, pools, spas, saunas, and terraces. Guests need a key card to access these 95 ultra-luxurious suites. The Escape also offers innovative, custom options, such as rooms designed for solo travellers and group cabin options for large families.
With space for 4,200 passengers, the Escape will be the largest ship sailing from Miami year-round. She holds nearly 200 passengers more than her sister ships. Bookings opened to the general public on March 26 and are expected to fill quickly. You can find our selection of Norwegian Cruise Line deals here.
