Pacific Dawn

Launched in 2009, Pacific Dawn’s distinctive design is inspired by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, who among other things helped design the iconic Pompidou Art Gallery in Paris. At 811 feet long, Pacific Dawn can accommodate up to 2,020 guests on P&O Australia cruises around the South Pacific and select destinations throughout Australia.


Pacific Dawn Entertainment


There is much to do on board P&O Australia’s Pacific Dawn, with the wonderful swimming pool and whirlpool tubs on the sun deck a good place to start. Sporty passengers can make use of the well-equipped, modern gymnasium, as well as a convenient jogging track and a fun table tennis area on deck. The Lotus Spa is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon, with all the latest treatments available, while there is boutique shopping available in the stunning Atrium.


Night time entertainment is found at one of Pacific Dawn’s magnificent show lounges, which host nightly productions, and The Dome, where every night there are live bands, dancing, comedy and occasionally an enjoyable theme night. In total, Pacific Dawn holds nine different bars, each with their own unique menu and character. The Promenade Bar is the best place to experience the beautiful ocean views, while the Bengal Bar always holds a friendly welcome and Legends Bar and Casino is a popular haunt.


Children are well looked after by dedicated P&O Australia cruise staff, with Turtle Cove catering for three to six year olds, Shark Shack keeping seven to ten year olds entertained and HQ a great place for eleven to seventeen year olds to hang out.


Pacific Dawn Dining


Guests on board P&O Australia’s Pacific Dawn can choose from a range of interesting dining options. The Palm Court main dining room is the hub of culinary activity, while the Seafood and Steakhouse restaurant is perfect for delicious fish and steak dishes. The Café Del Sol is a great venue if you are just after a snack, while arguably the best place for a family meal is found with the pizza and pasta based menu of Bravo Trattoria.


Pacific Dawn Accommodation


P&O Australia accommodation is of a high standard across all its ships, with passengers able to select from Inside, Outside and Balcony Staterooms, as well as Mini-suites and lavish Suite rooms. All staterooms offer lovely en suite bathrooms, television, easily controllable air-conditioning, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and a refrigerator, while Outside Staterooms provide a portal window view and Balcony Staterooms boast a great private terrace to relax on.


Mini-suites are of course much larger in size, and give added extras such as priority boarding, a luxurious bathrobe and slippers, the services of a helpful turn-down team, champagne on arrival and fresh fruit and flowers. Suites are the pinnacle of P&O Australia accommodation, offering large walk-in wardrobes, iPod dock, Nespresso coffee machine, complimentary laundry service and an invite to the Senior Officer’s exclusive cocktail party.

Pacific Jewel

Serving P&O Australia’s South Pacific and New Zealand itineraries from her home port of Sydney since 2009, Pacific Jewel can carry up to 1,950 passengers. She has even played host to a few scenes from the popular soap opera and bona fide Australian institution, Neighbours.


Pacific Jewel Entertainment


Pacific Jewel boasts one of the most incredible spectacles you will find on any cruise ship, with the introduction of the stunning Syzergy Aerial Shows, featuring creative trapeze and acrobatics routines performed on a high wire above the swimming pool. The largest of all P&O Australia’s on board spas is also found on board Pacific Jewel, with the wonderful Aqua Spa complementing the excellent Aqua Gym and the indulgent Turkish baths.


In terms of bars and night time entertainment, P&O Australia’s Pacific Jewel has plenty to choose from, with many bars and lounges offering a range of features. The Marquee Show Lounge puts on all the big P&O Australia productions, while further live entertainment is found in Connexions and Casbah, two beautifully decorated lounges showcasing superb live music, comedy and dancing, as well as karaoke. Players Bar and Casino is always a popular location, while the Balcony Bar even has its own art auction. Adults will doubtless enjoy The Oasis, a quiet, child free haven that is perfect if you need a bit of peace and time alone.


Pacific Jewel Dining


The Waterfront Restaurant is Pacific Jewel’s main dining room, and caters for P&O Australia cruise customers who favour the more traditional style of cruise dining. Elsewhere, the Plantation Restaurant lays on a lovely buffet that is ideal for a quick lunch, La Luna presents a stylish, modern and unique take on the best of Oriental cuisine and The Café offers indulgent coffees and original fare such as chocolate ravioli! For the first time, P&O Australia cruises are also able to lay claim to enjoying the services of a celebrity chef, with Luke Mangan’s Salt Grill arguably the culinary highlight of Pacific Jewel.


Pacific Jewel Accommodation


Passengers can choose from three different styles of stateroom and two types of suite accommodation during their stay on board P&O Australia’s Pacific Jewel. The Inside, Outside and Balcony Staterooms offer lovely en suite bathrooms, television, air-conditioning, an abundance of wardrobe and drawer space, telephone and refrigerator, with the possibility of a window view or balcony depending on which style you choose.


Mini-suites offer guests priority boarding, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, the services of a professional and thorough turn-down team, a glass of welcome champagne and fresh fruit and flowers. Suites go even further, with a marvellous walk-in wardrobe, iPod docking station, Nespresso coffee machine and laundry service among the extra perks, as well as an invitation to the Senior Officer’s exclusive cocktail party.

Pacific Pearl

The most recent addition to the P&O Australia cruise fleet, Pacific Pearl is a magnificent 811-foot craft that can carry up to 1,800 passengers. She covers many of P&O Australia’s fabulous itineraries around the South Pacific region.


Pacific Pearl Entertainment


The range of entertainment and activities available on board Pacific Pearl will ensure passengers have plenty to occupy them during their voyage. Pacific Pearl continues P&O Australia’s fine tradition of fantastic on board attractions, with many fun diversions available in the day and in the evening. The attractive pool area features an array of relaxing hot tubs, as well as the Splash Bar at the centre of the pool, serving refreshing cold beverages without the need to get out of the water. Deck sports such as cricket, basketball and golf are all available, while the ship contains a jogging track on deck for those who wish to keep up their exercise programme during their stay. Further opportunities for this are provided by the gymnasium.


P&O Australia’s Pacific Pearl is also home to a great selection of bars and lounges. Blue Bar boasts a very relaxing atmosphere and soothing décor, while Oval Bar is the place to go for sports fans. The ship also houses a fun casino, and the Club Lounge is excellent for inventive cocktails. P&O Australia cruises also put on nightly entertainment at the Marquee Theatre and Connexions in the form of live shows, music and comedy, while you can dance the night away at The Dome nightclub.

Pacific Pearl Dining


P&O Australia cruises have a great track record of providing excellent dining options, and this is continued with Pacific Pearl. Guests can enjoy a formal, sit-down banquet in the Waterfront Restaurant, the main dining room of the ship and home to a delicious gourmet menu. The Plantation Restaurant lays on a fantastic buffet, while the jewel in the P&O Australia culinary crown is without doubt the fabulous Salt Grill, a beautiful, inventive eatery designed by celebrity chef Luke Mangan.


Pacific Pearl Accommodation

Pacific Sun

Lauded by many as ‘Australia’s favourite cruise ship’, Pacific Sun’s recent makeover has further cemented her place as a crucial component in the P&O Australia cruise fleet. She carries 1,900 passengers as she sails around her regular ports of call at Fremantle, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland.

There are plenty of ways to keep occupied on board P&O Australia’s Pacific Sun, with guests able to relax during the day by the stunning outdoor pools and enjoy the refreshments on offer from the poolside Outback Bar. Pacific Sun has a wonderfully well-equipped fitness centre for keen exercisers, as well as a jogging track that allows runners to appreciate the wonderful ocean views while they jog. P&O Australia’s acclaimed Lotus Day Spa is also available, offering the full range of indulgent treatments. Boutique shopping is also on hand should passengers wish to purchase gifts and mementoes of their trip.


By night, Pacific Sun offers a range of delightful bars and lounges where guests can enjoy a drink and some live entertainment. The on board casino is always popular, and can be combined with a tasty beverage at the neighbouring Legends Bar. The Speakeasy Piano Bar is arguably the most laid back setting on board, while the Promenade Lounge is perfect for appreciating the splendid views. The Atlantis Show Lounge hosts nightly productions, live music and comedy.


Children can be left in the capable hands of P&O Australia cruise staff at Turtle Cove, for younger children, or Shark Shack for older ones. Adults can take an afternoon away from the children with a restful day in the adults-only Oasis area on the Sun Deck.


Pacific Sun Dining


P&O Australia’s dining options are always excellent, and Pacific Sun offers a great deal to choose from. The ship’s two main dining rooms are the Burgundy and the Bordeaux, both offering beautiful a la carte menus. Elsewhere, the Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant offers perfectly cooked steaks and superb seafood dishes for a small additional fee, while the buffet and pizzeria present the ideal setting for a quick, tasty meal. For a fantastic variety of teas and coffees during the day, the Outback Café is the place to go.


Pacific Sun Accommodation
