With a passenger capacity of thirty-six and an all-Australian twenty-strong crew, True North has enough activities and facilities to ensure all guests are kept entertained and accommodation that guarantees a luxurious night’s sleep.


True North Entertainment


True North is purpose built for accessing all the narrow rivers and tiny stretches of water that you will encounter on your journey, allowing you to get closer to nature and to your surroundings than you would be able to on a larger liner. North Star Cruises aim to ensure their guests fully experience their destination, and as such many off-ship activities are laid on, such as scenic walks and exploring, picnics, snorkelling and diving. The ship also carries six smaller vessels dedicated to excursions such as fishing, which North Star Cruises take great care to ensure is carried out responsibly and with respect to the environment.


Back on the ship itself, passengers can relax on the sun deck, enjoy the views from the front-facing observation lounge, unwind in the ship’s lounge or enjoy a refreshing drink in the al fresco bar. Guests can also learn a little about their next destination with helpful introductory information sessions from an on board naturalist. However, the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the magnificent helicopter rides provided on most cruises, with the ship’s own helicopter taking guests up for a truly spectacular view of their surroundings.


True North Dining


One of the most innovative features of North Star Cruises is the way they create and deliver unparalleled cuisine at an unbeatable level of freshness. Much of the seafood served on board will have been caught by the guests themselves on the same day, during one of True North’s fishing excursions. Dinner is served in a casual fashion with guests not constrained to a seating arrangement. The hors d’oeuvres served daily in the ship’s lounge are a nice touch, while specialities include oysters, barramundi, Angus and Wagyu beef, succulent Australian lamb and freshly prepared sashimi.


North Star Cruises’ True North also offers memorable heli-picnics, showcasing the finest Australian barbecue cuisine, such as king prawns, reef fish, squid, pearl meat and smoked salmon.


True North Accommodation


The staterooms on board True North are split into three separate classes across the ship’s three decks. The grandest accommodation available is the upper deck Explorer Class, which features a king-size bed and a twin basin en suite bathroom. In addition, guests can enjoy a flat screen television, well-stocked mini-bar and fabulous views from the panoramic windows. On the middle deck are the River Class staterooms, similar in size to the Explorer Class. Ocean Class accommodation is found on the lower deck, with two spacious single beds making it the ideal choice for travelling friends.
