China Cruise Deals

Few countries in the world are more intriguing to the outsider than China. This is a country where incredible natural beauty and vast expanses of peaceful, unspoiled landscapes exist alongside modern, towering cities and one of the true wonders of the world, the Great Wall. A cruise to China will take you past imposing mountains that dominate the scenery, vast, rushing rivers and beautiful temples, palaces and defences that all have a tale to tell in China’s fascinating history.

One of the main stops on a cruise to China is a visit to the fabulous city of Shanghai, where you can expect to find a mix of traditional landmarks and local culture tucked away amongst the gleaming modern skyline and the contemporary shopping areas. The old Shanghai is still clear for all to see, with temples, street markets and traditional Chinese gardens a reminder of the city’s past. One of the most beautiful buildings in Shanghai is the iconic Jade Buddha Temple, known for its two great white jade Buddha statues. For shoppers, the best place to experience the pinnacle of Shanghai shopping is the bustling Nanjing Road. In the evenings, enjoy a walk along the Bund, a famous colonial street with stunning views over the city. The beauty of Shanghai is that it has it all, with visitors finding themselves sipping cocktails in a gleaming bar one minute and tucking into a bowl of dumplings from a street vendor the next.

Of course, the city of Beijing is a must-see on a cruise from China, a place where you can fully appreciate the culture and history of ancient China. The city is home to the stunning Great Wall, one of the top tourist attractions in the world, and visitors should not miss the opportunity to talk a walk along it and survey the scene. Also of interest is a trip to the Forbidden City, where you can enjoy a rickshaw ride through the maze of cobbled streets that make up the Huntongs. Exploring this area will take you down alleyways lined with traditional Chinese shops, and larger streets that are home to temples, cafes, palaces and shops. Guests can also have a look around the historic Ming Tombs, or visit the largest and arguably most famous public square in the world at Tiananmen Square.
