Brazilian Cruise Deals

With a reputation as one of the most vibrant and spectacular countries in the world, Brazil is a country where visitors can be sure of being entertained at all times. From the famous beaches to bustling metropolises, a cruise to Brazil reveals a country rich in history and culture.

Most itineraries take Sao Paulo as their starting point. The city is the commercial heart of Brazil, and is famously one of the largest exporters of coffee in the world. Visitors will enjoy the street markets and revel in the local cuisine, while it is impossible to ignore that great Brazilian passion, football!

Arguably the most popular and talked about destination in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro, which is of course most famous for its massive beaches and legendary Carnival. A fantastic way to see the city is by taking a cable car to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain, where your view will take in the Copacabana, Ipanema and the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado. A stroll along the seafront will take you past a range of quirky boutiques and delightful beach cafés, while the Rio cuisine is a true Brazilian highlight, with freshly grilled meats brought directly to the table on skewers.

Beaches are of course a prominent feature of a Brazil cruise, and the ports of Buzios and Porto Belo hold perfect sandy paradises that are ideal for relaxing in the sun with a cocktail. Buzios is a beautiful peninsula pointing out to sea, and as such has plenty of coastline on which to hold its twenty or so beaches, which are a favoured haunt of the rich and famous and offer opportunities to indulge in some fun beach and water sports. Porto Belo is much quieter; the former fishing village enjoys a much calmer atmosphere while still housing several stunning beaches.

Other ports featured on cruises to Brazil include Ilheus, Salvador da Bahia and Ilhabela. The former is a lovely colonial seaport which offers visitors a choice of miles of sandy beaches and coconut groves, as well as a fantastic cocoa plantation. Salvador de Bahia is a great place to discover a taste of African culture, while Ilhabela is a green, mountainous island, most of which is a state park reserve housing perfect beaches and a marvellous, unspoiled rainforest.
