Baltic Cruise Deals

For the intrepid explorer, there are few more exciting places to visit than the fantastic destinations found dotted around the coastline of the Baltic Sea. Whether it is stunning Scandinavian architecture or the majestic Norwegian Fjords that lure you to this fascinating corner of the world, you will uncover a history and a way of life unlike any other. With so much to see and do on a cruise to the Baltics, having something like a luxury cruise liner to get you from place to place can only be a plus.

The capital cities of some of Europe’s most entertaining countries feature on these Baltic cruises, among them the magnificent Norwegian capital Oslo. Located between the beautiful Oslo Fjord and the sprawling hills of Oslomarka, the city boasts lovely 19th and 20th century architecture decorated with ornate wooden carvings and colourful frescoes. Visitors can also enjoy the Viking Ship Museum and experience the spectacular view of the city and fjord together from Akershus Castle.

Positioned at the point where Lake Malaren flows into the Baltic Sea, Swedish capital Stockholm is awash with ancient history and fascinating culture, and is home to many quaint cobbled streets lined with pretty buildings. Passengers on a cruise from the Baltics are recommended to enjoy a coffee in one of the fashionable street cafés or spend an afternoon taking in Stockholm’s shops, art galleries and museums.

Estonian capital Tallinn is one of the oldest cities on the Baltic Sea and offers an array of parks, museums and cafés to enjoy. The spectacular Russian city of St. Petersburg is, thanks to its historic architecture, one of the most beautiful places in the world, with a rich history and culture for visitors to uncover in sites such as the Hermitage Museum, the Peter and Paul Fortress and St. Isaac Cathedral.

Other highlights on a cruise to the Baltics include the scenic port of Flam, the charming, bustling town of Stavanger and the jaw-dropping glacial landscape around Bergen. A night time sail through Scandinavia’s famous fjords is also a real treat. Scandinavia is of course known for having very short hours of daylight during the winter months, and as such the best time to visit the area is between June and July. That said, the Baltic cruise season does actually run from May to September, during which time the weather does tend to remain warm and dry.
